I'm Tamara Newton a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving the State of Georgia, and founder of Newbridge Counseling & Consulting Services LLC. Feel free to explore our website and then make your appointment to begin your journey of healing, because you deserve to have mental, and emotional peace and joy. I am a native New Yorker who earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Services and my Master of Science in Counseling. I have extensive experience working in community mental health and currently work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and demographics. My approach is person-centered because everyone has different situations they need to work through. You hold the power to stop hurting and start healing and once you reach out for help, I will help guide you on your path of change and recovery. I'll guide you toward reconnecting and reclaiming any loss of positive self-image through the realization of your strengths and we'll celebrate all your small and significant measures of progress. So ready, set, let's get started!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect the establishment of warm rapport, and then to be listened to, heard, and supported. We would then begin the therapeutic process by assessing their need and discussing their goals and expectations. I would continue with the appropriate therapy approach to set them on the path to achieving their desired goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths is my ability to establish strong, warm, therapeutic rapport, having an empathic ear, and possessing the ability to assist clients in solving their various challenges. I am also gifted in working with individuals to uncover their inner strengths and abilities that help them progress toward achieving their goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help structure a goal-oriented type of psychotherapy to help manage unhealthy patterns of thinking, behaviors, and negative core beliefs of self or views of the world.

Humanistic

My use of this approach allows my clients to always view themselves as human and not perfect beings exempt from making mistakes. They can then learn to appreciate and view their mistakes as opportunities to learn, grow and foster positive change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use this approach which permits clients to take more of a lead in a session, which allows them to feel more in control of their outcomes. It also allows them to engage in various levels of self-discovery.
