Hello and thank you for visiting my profile! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of South Carolina and Georgia with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families. I have provided counseling services to clients with an array of concerns to include depression, anxiety, stress, work life balance, parenting, relationship issues, and grief and loss. My experience also consists of work with clients with substance use history and military personnel. I build rapport and gain an understanding of my clients' concerns using Motivational Interviewing and continue to establish the therapeutic relationship using client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy. My approach to counseling is to provide my clients with compassion, empathy and encouragement, without judgment, to find solutions within oneself. I consider myself a vibrant and enthusiastic person and enjoy listening and talking with my clients. I love to incorporate fun conversations and laughter when appropriate. I hope you will choose me to help guide you on your journey to wellness. Talk with you soon!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is what I like to call “the getting to know you” session. This is a relaxed, supportive space where we begin building our connection and laying the foundation for our work together. During this session, I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current concerns, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore what’s been going on in your life, what you’d like to work on, and any goals you may already have in mind. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once—this is your space, and we move at your pace. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel comfortable with the process. Most importantly, this session is about helping you feel heard, supported, and understood. By the end of our time together, we’ll begin identifying areas of focus and discuss next steps so you leave with a clear sense of direction moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my ability to blend evidence-based methods with a deeply relational and intuitive style of care. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy—instead, I thoughtfully integrate approaches such as CBT, EFT, Motivational Interviewing, and grief-informed care to meet each client where they are. My work goes beyond surface-level coping. I help clients understand the “why” behind their patterns while also giving them practical tools to create meaningful, lasting change. I balance warmth with directness, offering a space that feels both safe and growth-oriented. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and leave with greater clarity, emotional awareness, and a stronger sense of control in their lives and relationships. My goal is not just to help clients feel better, but to help them function better, communicate more effectively, and build more secure, fulfilling connections.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals and couples who are ready to do meaningful emotional work and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. They may be navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or unresolved emotional pain, and are seeking a supportive space to process and grow. These clients are open to self-reflection, value personal development, and are motivated to create lasting change in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we explore unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more balanced, realistic perspectives. I incorporate practical tools and real-life application so clients can actively shift patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and stress. My approach is collaborative, empowering clients to build awareness and long-term coping skills.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I create a supportive space where both partners feel heard, respected, and understood. I help couples improve communication, navigate conflict, and rebuild emotional connection. My work focuses on identifying patterns within the relationship, increasing accountability, and strengthening trust. I guide couples toward healthier interactions while honoring each partner’s individual experience.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Using EFT, I help clients understand and process the deeper emotions that drive their behaviors and relationship patterns. This approach focuses on strengthening emotional bonds and creating secure, meaningful connections. I support individuals and couples in identifying attachment needs, expressing vulnerability, and breaking cycles of disconnection to foster more secure and fulfilling relationships.

Grief Therapy

In grief therapy, I provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space for clients to process loss at their own pace. I recognize that grief is not linear and looks different for everyone. I support clients in exploring their emotions, honoring their experiences, and finding ways to move forward while staying connected to what they have lost. My approach is gentle, validating, and deeply client-centered.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence and strengthen their internal motivation for change. Rather than directing or pushing, I guide clients in identifying their own goals, values, and reasons for change. This approach is especially helpful when clients feel stuck or uncertain, empowering them to move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
