Gabrielle Korpas

LCSW-C7 years of experience

Hello! My name is Gaby, and I've been on this journey of helping people for a while now. I graduated with a degree in psychology in 2011 and have since immersed myself in various therapeutic settings across Utah. I took my passion for supporting individuals and communities a step further by earning my masters degree in social work in 2019. Fast forward and now I have been living and working in Maryland since 2025, where I have been able to help individuals experiencing who are experiencing mental health, substance use, and other life stressors.

First session

The first session will primarily focus on getting to know one another and creating an opportunity to determine whether we feel like a good fit for ongoing work together. While rapport and trust naturally develop throughout the therapeutic process, I believe the first session is an important time to begin understanding who you are, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from the experience. Together, we will explore what you are currently experiencing, what you would like support with, and what you hope to work toward through therapy. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together moving forward.

Strengths

I aim to foster a space of mutual respect, openness, and accountability. My role is to support and gently challenge individuals as they explore the life they want to create. Therapy can be tough, but it's incredibly rewarding, and I take pride in being part of your journey. Although I utilize various therapeutic modalities, I am committed to continuously growing both as a therapist and as a person.

Ideal clients

My work focuses on supporting individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, and other life-related stressors. I work with individuals who are seeking personal and professional growth, greater self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of themselves and what they want from life. Together, we explore the challenges and barriers they may be experiencing and develop strategies to help them move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

Treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Although I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions, my primary approach is rooted in person-centered and humanistic principles. I believe that beyond a diagnosis or presenting concern, each individual deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued. Therapy is an opportunity to better understand ourselves, explore what may be holding us back, and develop the motivation and skills needed to move toward greater healing, stability, and personal growth.
