In this world where even feelings seem to have their own set of feelings, and emotional rollercoasters are our daily ride, I'm here to be your compass through the ups, downs and sideways of life. And, yes, a touch of humor is my secret weapon. What sets me apart? I've mastered the art of infusing every day jingles and anecdotes into therapy sessions, because, let's face it, sometimes a deep breath, a giggle and a chocolate chip cookie can work wonders on almost any mood. I am eagerly looking forward to connecting with clients who appreciate an authentic and down to earth counseling style. Let's navigate the complexities of life and feelings together.

Life these days can feel like you are on a roller coaster that doesn’t stop. This can lead to having very intense emotions, ones that feel overwhelming, scary, hopeless. Maybe you are feeling extreme loneliness? Feeling so stressed that it’s hard to focus, or you just don’t feel like doing much of anything lately. Intense negative feelings can affect your relationships, sleep, and job or school performance. For some, anxiety or sadness can lead to outbursts of anger or feelings of worthlessness inside. It is important to learn about yourself, what is causing these feelings, and to know that there are solutions. I have worked with adolescents and adults for many years to to gain control of their lives. By building a safe and supportive environment for people to learn about themselves and to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions, I help my clients identify these issues more clearly and work to find realistic solutions to their problems. In these more stressful times it is understandable to feel out of sorts and to reach out for help. There is no shame in this, as a matter of fact it takes great courage to do so. I provide a safe caring environment through online therapy. You can begin the process of learning about yourself from your home. You can begin to heal, return to being productive

Tired of reading bios? I would be too, so I'll keep it short: I graduated from UPenn 10+ years ago with a Master's in Social Work. I have experience working in almost every setting you could imagine. I specialize in making people feel comfortable, safe, and validated. I specialize in treating my clients like they matter, are important & are worthy, no matter what they look like, sound like, or "seem" like. I'm also an expert in being a real human being and not a robot with automated responses who will "mhmm" you to death. My "approach" is understanding that I can't expect you to expose the deepest, darkest, most vulnerable parts of yourself to me if I remain a complete stranger to you. In our sessions, I want you to feel like you're with one of your best friends who you can trust, laugh and ugly-cry with. My only goal is to make you feel like you're not alone. Like you have someone in your corner who will fight for you, laugh with you, curse with you, and ugly-cry with you (I'm totally kidding, kinda, that part's negotiable).

I'm an artist and art therapist based in Philadelphia, PA. I've worked within the community mental health field for more than a decade, providing group and individual counseling and art therapy. As a therapist, I lead with kindness, compassion, and humor. I believe that connection is the foundation of healing. I feel passionately about the importance of community care and the deep, transformative potential of creative expression. I’ve personally experienced how art can be a tool for processing trauma and making sense of life’s challenges. I believe every person has a unique and valuable perspective to share, and that your voice matters. I also have an old cat who may make an appearance from time to time. I love connecting with nature, birding, hiking, and being outdoors. I enjoy baking, making art, dancing, collecting books I hope to read, and tea. I dabble in tarot cards, reiki, and playing music.

I can help you navigate through change: job loss, grief, family estrangement, divorce/breakup, gender exploration, working on anxious attachment or people-pleasing. Together, we can work to integrate trauma, depression, anxiety and other symptoms into a life that feels worthwhile, however you define that. There's definitely more than one path for healing, and what can look like stability to some can be uncomfortably stifling to others. I will utilize a combination of narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, DBT/CBT skills (very optional!), feminist therapy and insight-oriented therapy to help you find your way forward. My biggest rule in therapy is "no trauma shaming." That is, if you are sharing your trauma and include a qualifier such as "other people have it worse," I will remind you that your trauma is valid! Surviving trauma is difficult enough; shame is a log lying on the train tracks. We can move it, and move forward, with the correct equipment.

I am Nancy Malwitz, a Licensed Professional Counselor and I am always looking for ways to help others achieve their goals for growth and resolution of problematic issues in their lives. I spent many years working as a retail manager and learned many things about human behaviors and how to resolve conflict and help mentor and teach others about many life experiences that they may have. I approach issues and concerns with directness and open-minded, outside of the box thinking in order to help those who are seeking guidance for the concerns they have about their lives. I feel that often people have the capacity to find solutions that are good for their journey and to be able to make connections that enhance those capabilities in their own lives. I am someone who can come alongside you in helping find those pathways and answers to the questions that you may have about your own life, due to the journey that I have taken in my own experiences and life lived.

From this perspective, listening is the most-important part of communication. Hi, I’m Kelly Tamburro, LPC. I’m a trauma-informed therapist who helps high achievers, caregivers, and young adults break out of anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout. I rely heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand your patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and build practical skills that actually make life feel lighter. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. On the outside, you might be the responsible one, the strong one, or the one people rely on, but inside you may feel exhausted, anxious, or unsure of how to slow down. You don’t have to keep holding everything by yourself. My style is warm, calm, and collaborative. I provide a nonjudgmental space to process trauma, gain insight, and learn tools that support long-term healing. While my Grow practice is fully virtual, I bring a nature-informed perspective to therapy, using grounding, mindfulness, and nature-based reflection to help you feel more centered and connected wherever you are. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, find relief from stress and trauma symptoms, and rebuild your sense of balance and confidence, I’d love to support you.

As a therapist—and as someone living with Type 1 diabetes—I understand firsthand the emotional, psychological, and relational toll that chronic illness can take. Managing a lifelong condition doesn’t just affect the body; it can impact your identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. This lived experience allows me to bring a deeper level of empathy, insight, and authenticity to my work with clients facing similar challenges. In my practice, I also specialize in working with individuals and couples dealing with the complex and often painful realities of addiction, recovery, and relational distress. These experiences can leave people feeling stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Whether you’re working to rebuild trust in a relationship, find freedom from substance use, or heal from past wounds, I’m here to support you with compassion and respect. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly and honestly about your struggles. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices tailored to your unique needs and goals. Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Pennsylvania. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Depression?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Depression, is filtering therapists in Pennsylvania that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
