Perhaps you struggle with depression or anxiety and are overwhelmed trying to manage the stress of daily living. You may find yourself resorting to substance use or other compulsive behaviors as a form of coping with daily stressors. You are committed to change and have tried to change, but lack the deeper awareness of what is driving the behaviors. It can be disheartening to acknowledge the unwanted impact on your life and on your valued relationships. My guiding principle as a therapist comes in the form of a question: what’s it like being you? My therapeutic skills involve exploring the way you view yourself, your relationships, and the way you interpret your lived experience. I draw from CBT, attachment theory, exploration of existential issues, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed therapy. My goal is to facilitate meaningful, helpful, and transformative conversations that revolve around understanding you and helping you develop the useful tools for change. I will guide our sessions with this in mind as we work together, allowing you and helping you feel understood in specific ways that promote change.

Tired of reading bios? I would be too, so I'll keep it short: I graduated from UPenn 10+ years ago with a Master's in Social Work. I have experience working in almost every setting you could imagine. I specialize in making people feel comfortable, safe, and validated. I specialize in treating my clients like they matter, are important & are worthy, no matter what they look like, sound like, or "seem" like. I'm also an expert in being a real human being and not a robot with automated responses who will "mhmm" you to death. My "approach" is understanding that I can't expect you to expose the deepest, darkest, most vulnerable parts of yourself to me if I remain a complete stranger to you. In our sessions, I want you to feel like you're with one of your best friends who you can trust, laugh and ugly-cry with. My only goal is to make you feel like you're not alone. Like you have someone in your corner who will fight for you, laugh with you, curse with you, and ugly-cry with you (I'm totally kidding, kinda, that part's negotiable).

I'm Ben Northrup, a licensed professional counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with strength and self-compassion. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychosis treatment, helping family members of individuals with symptoms of psychosis, and support for anxiety and depression. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lock Haven University and have worked in a range of clinical settings—including group homes, partial hospitalization programs, women’s centers, and community-based mental health. These experiences have shaped my client-centered, practical, and empathetic approach to therapy. Therapy sessions with me tend to feel more casual in nature and use everyday language (no psychological jargon). While therapy is a serious matter and we will talk about serious subjects, it should never be a time that either of us dread. I believe in taking time to learn about, or help you discover, hobbies and parts of life that you enjoy. I take time to help you develop more personalized coping skills and problem solve using your strengths. So, whether you're feeling overwhelmed, seeking tools to manage emotions, or navigating complex mental health challenges, I'm here to support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.

👋 Hi, I’m Jen — a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Music Therapist. I work with children, teens and adults who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, eating disorders, or just that nagging feeling that life shouldn’t feel this hard. My sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and human. You won’t find therapy jargon or long awkward silences here (unless you need a second to think — then we’ll embrace it). My approach blends evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and music therapy. Sometimes that means diving into tough conversations, sometimes it means finding small ways to breathe again. I meet you where you are and help you get unstuck — one honest, real moment at a time. Before private practice, I worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia providing individual and group therapy for adolescents with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. I also supported patients and families on the Oncology, Behavioral Health, PICU, and NICU units, and those navigating grief and loss. Those experiences taught me that healing rarely looks perfect, and that progress often starts with showing up — even when you don’t feel ready. My goal is simple: to help you make sense of what’s going on and find a little more ease in the middle of it all. Whether you’re ready to talk, vent, process, or just exist in the moment — I’ve got you.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker who believes therapy should feel like a real conversation—not a test, not a lecture, and definitely not something you have to “perform” for. My goal is to create a space where you can breathe, slow down, and talk honestly about what’s going on without feeling judged or overwhelmed. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship stress, burnout, and big life transitions. I blend approaches like trauma-informed CBT, ACT, DBT skills, solution-focused work, and mind-body techniques to help you make sense of what you’re feeling and build tools that actually fit your life. Hello, and welcome. My name is Ayanna Gellineau, and I’m a trauma-focused therapist committed to helping individuals reconnect with themselves in safe, meaningful ways. I work from the belief that healing is possible when we feel seen, supported, and empowered to make sense of our stories — at our own pace, in our own voice. I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected — and they’re often carrying unspoken pain from past experiences. My role is to hold space for your healing, offering a steady presence and a collaborative approach that centers your needs. I honor the courage it takes to begin this work and view therapy as a partnership rooted in trust, safety, and mutual respect. I use evidence-based, trauma-informed practices that may include mindfulness, somatic awareness, inner child work, and cognitive-behavioral techniques — always tailored to your unique story. My style is warm, curious, and affirming. I will meet you where you are and support you in moving forward with clarity and compassion. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and have experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, and I value the complexity of each client’s identity and lived experience. If you're looking for a therapist who listens deeply, honors your pace, and offers a space where all parts of you are welcome — you’re in the right place. Therapy is not about fixing you; it’s about helping you reconnect with the strength and wisdom that’s already within you. I look forward to walking alongside you in your healing journey.

I can help you navigate through change: job loss, grief, family estrangement, divorce/breakup, gender exploration, working on anxious attachment or people-pleasing. Together, we can work to integrate trauma, depression, anxiety and other symptoms into a life that feels worthwhile, however you define that. There's definitely more than one path for healing, and what can look like stability to some can be uncomfortably stifling to others. I will utilize a combination of narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, DBT/CBT skills (very optional!), feminist therapy and insight-oriented therapy to help you find your way forward. My biggest rule in therapy is "no trauma shaming." That is, if you are sharing your trauma and include a qualifier such as "other people have it worse," I will remind you that your trauma is valid! Surviving trauma is difficult enough; shame is a log lying on the train tracks. We can move it, and move forward, with the correct equipment.

Hi, I'm a therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families and historically getting positive results. I tend to work with families with special members such as teens and seniors. I have always worked with teens as it seemed to be a population others found difficult, but I liked the challenge. Now that I am a senior, I better understand the needs of our demographic. I tend to utilize a Family Systems approach which sees the individual in a family context as the majority has grown up in some form of family, whether related by blood or not. I've also taught Marriage and Family Therapy through what is now Drexel University's Family Therapy Program and have offered professional Supervision as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. By working with the client in a collaborative, goal setting manner, faster more positive results seem to be achieved.

Hi, I’m Kelly Tamburro, LPC. I’m a trauma-informed therapist who helps high achievers, caregivers, and young adults break out of anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout. I rely heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand your patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and build practical skills that actually make life feel lighter. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. On the outside, you might be the responsible one, the strong one, or the one people rely on, but inside you may feel exhausted, anxious, or unsure of how to slow down. You don’t have to keep holding everything by yourself. My style is warm, calm, and collaborative. I provide a nonjudgmental space to process trauma, gain insight, and learn tools that support long-term healing. While my Grow practice is fully virtual, I bring a nature-informed perspective to therapy, using grounding, mindfulness, and nature-based reflection to help you feel more centered and connected wherever you are. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, find relief from stress and trauma symptoms, and rebuild your sense of balance and confidence, I’d love to support you.

Hello, my name is Vicki. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who primarily practices through the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. I focus on helping clients connect with and understand the different parts of themselves in a compassionate and nonjudgmental way. I believe every person carries an innate capacity for healing and self-leadership, and my role is to support you in uncovering that inner strength. In addition to IFS, I integrate trauma-informed care, narrative, and person-centered approaches to foster resilience and growth. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, curious, and empowered to explore your inner world at your own pace. I consider it an honor to walk alongside you as you work toward greater balance, clarity, and connection.

With over 18 years of experience, I provide a comprehensive, evidence-based therapeutic approach for individuals facing substance use disorders and mental health challenges. I have worked with adolescents, adults, families, and couples, tailoring treatment to their unique needs and fostering personal growth and long-term recovery. As the former owner of a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment facility for mental health and substance use disorders, I played a pivotal role in supporting families, conducting individual and group therapy, and ensuring clients received appropriate treatment placements. My work has extended beyond clinical practice, including serving as an expert witness for the Montgomery County Grand Jury on opioid epidemic matters and delivering mental health and addiction education to churches, synagogues, and schools. Integrating Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) into my practice has further enhanced my ability to implement structured, evidence-based interventions for addiction, mental health conditions, and autism spectrum disorder. My goal is to make therapy an empowering experience where clients gain insight and leave each session with solutions that continue to resonate and evolve. Above all, I believe in the power of transformative therapy to facilitate healing and change. Whether guiding individuals through recovery, supporting families in crisis, or advocating for mental health awareness, my mission remains to enhance accessibility to treatment and empower individuals toward lasting well-being.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Depression?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Depression, is filtering therapists in Pennsylvania that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
