New to Grow
I'm Jill and I have been a social worker for more than 20 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been doing mental health therapy for 10+ years. I have worked with all kinds of people from different backgrounds and I really enjoy the clients I work with.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be an "Intake" session. I will review with you some of the standards of counseling and we will gather all of your biographical information. Once that has been collected, we will be able to begin working on your problem and figuring out how we will achieve your goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is very client centered. I do not force my clients to talk about anything they are not ready to talk about. I want you to be as comfortable as possible when you share information with me.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love to work with people who feel like they are stuck in their mental health issue and have no way to get out of it. My favorite clients are the ones who try to change small things a little bit at a time until they start to notice a difference in their mental health.
Christian Counseling
I have 20+ years of experience in the mental health field, coupled with exploring issues related to the Christian faith.
Attachment-based
History of foster care and adoption social worker. Experience working with children and adults with attachment issues.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I love to teach people how to retrain their brain to think more positively!
EMDR
I have been certified by EMDRIA in EMDR and love using this method with my clients.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I can use Trauma Focused CBT to help people with trauma get unstuck from their pasts.
