I am a Black/Latinx, Queer Eclectic therapist, I approach therapy from a client-centered, trauma-informed, Multicultural, and holistic lens. I believe in empowering clients to see, utilize, and grow their capacity, and ability to face new challenges. I work with all age groups, I am LGBTQIA-affirming and minority centered. My passion is working with clients who are navigating personal challenges around trauma, identity, sexuality, toxic stress, addiction, and neurodivergence. My other passion is to work with other clinicians in the field who need space to vent, share experiences, and acknowledge their challenges.
During our first session, you can expect us to discuss what brings you to therapy. I will ask about your experience with mental health and explore your comfort level with talking about difficult topics. I often check in with my clients about any mood changes during sessions. I try to get as much history as possible to understand the entirety of the person in front of me (not just the issues presented). This helps me form a clear understanding of your experience and helps me to remain curious and informed in this uncomfortable, but therapeutic dynamic.
My strength as a provider is to take the issue apart and look at each piece separately. I often look to understand the nature of the issue. I believe in the therapeutic alliance and value my clients for showing up because therapy is difficult, messy, and sometimes unbearable. I value the trust that my clients can offer, and I remain vulnerable with them to respect the relationship that we are working to develop. This relationship is what helps in treatment, not so much the credentials. I believe in my client's ability to achieve goals, improve their self-image, find value in themselves, and explore new opportunities for growth. As an eclectic/integrative therapist, there is more flexibility in deciding how to tackle issues and collaborate around treatment goals for each individual.
I enjoy working with clients open to exploring vulnerable feelings and considering different perspectives. As a Queer Black/Latinx therapist, I am inclined to work with LGBTQ+, minority, and clients who struggle with feeling overwhelmed, distracted or hopeless. I enjoy working with clients who have mood and personality disorders because it is a chance for an improved relationship with themselves, to discuss challenges and ways to understand their mental health and to reach goals that align with their emotional and mental health needs. LGBT+ (including DL), Black and Brown folx, BIPOC, Spanish-speaking clients, Clients with addiction/substance abuse, Neurodivergent clients, and justice-involved clients.
I have worked in Education and within the mental health field, I pull from my experience with various evidenced-based interventions to address the issues that clients present during treatment.

Kye is a wonderful therapist who has helped me navigate and understand aspects of my psychology that other therapists haven't fully challenged. For that, I'm really grateful.

Kye asks pointed questions in ways that push me to delve deeper into the comments I make. Kye does a good job tracking information from session to session, guiding the conversation in ways that bring back topics discussed in the past and applying them to new contexts. I often feel like we cover a lot during our discussions because they asks questions that require I process multiple things at once. They also allow me to process my whole thoughts before probing a new question. This style fits me.
