What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

What you can expect from working with me is: a) an exploration of childhood trauma b) opportunities to process 'stuck' feelings, thoughts, and body sensations, and c) guidance on how to support yourself and live a more purpose-driven life. Adults I've helped, have reported seeing an improvement in their ability to cope within 12 sessions or less.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I received training in Person-Centered and Compassion-Focused Therapy during and after graduate school. This approach helps adults overcome the hurt and shame tied to their experiences. I also use EMDR, music therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to foster compassionate healing.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

With over 5 years of experience as a childhood trauma therapist, I specialize in helping adult survivors of childhood trauma repair relationships, overcome shame, and rebuild a more meaningful life. We'll work together on healing emotional wounds, building resilience, and reducing the symptoms of anxiety and depression resulting from the trauma.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I care about what matters most to you and strive to help you live a life aligned with those priorities. ACT, a mindfulness-based therapy, emphasizes managing difficult thoughts and emotions while encouraging you to take committed action toward your values.

EMDR

Bearing the weight of difficult memories, life events, or past traumas can be exhausting. I offer a structured approach called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you process and heal from those experiences.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

It may feel like you are stuck in overwhelming emotions or battling inner conflicts. Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a powerful approach that helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself that may be carrying pain, fear, or sadness.

Mind-body approach

Maybe you have tried "talking through" or "thinking through" your issues but have not found relief from your hurt or pain. I take a Mind-Body approach that emphasizes the connection between mental and physical well-being. These methods include guided imagery and music, breathwork, and mindfulness. I use a method called The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music to incorporate all these methods.
