Feeling tense and on edge, restless, ruminating all the time, can't get out of bed, constantly worrying and feeling annoyed and irritable? While these feelings can be quite unsettling I understand just how to help you make the next move to feeling better. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Florida with over 11 years of experience working with individuals on a host of different issues from depression, anxiety, anger, relationship issues, self esteem and many more. I have worked in a many different setting and all those experiences helped to make me the rounded clinician that I am today. Many individuals focus on their physical health while ignoring the most important aspect of their being and that is their mental health. I believe that focusing on one's mental health shows fortitude and strength and I am right here to help you walk through those difficult times. I take clients on the journey until they arrive at their destination by incorporating prayer and the Word along with therapeutic interventions. “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start.” Nido Qubein. This quote sums up what I believe when it comes to working with my clients. Where you are right now does not define you, it is your starting point to get you moving in the right direction. The thought of therapy may sound daunting to you, but I can assure you that this could be one of the best decisions that you ever made. Investing in your mental health is priceless and it is your choice to make. Even an ounce of success is better than no success. Take that leap of faith and start living a changed life. This is my story, What’s yours? Let’s talk.

I also understand that mental health symptoms can impact school, testing, or work performance. I’m the therapist people find when things feel “too much”, too complicated, too stuck, or too long ignored. I work best with challenging cases because I don’t shy away from the hard stuff: patterns that keep repeating, relationships that won’t shift, emotions that show up like tidal waves. I’m open, straightforward, and never judgmental. You’ll always know where you stand with me, no jargon, no sugarcoating, and no pretending. My approach is Gestalt: present-focused, experiential, and deeply human. We pay attention to what’s happening right now your thoughts, body, emotions, and the space between us, so we can see your patterns. Intense emotions (anxiety, anger, shame) that spike fast or linger Repeating conflict in relationships; weak or wobbly boundaries Attachment wounds, complex/relational trauma, or family-of-origin stress Feeling split between who you are and how you act (values vs. habits) High-functioning on the outside, exhausted or disconnected inside If you’re reading this because things feel heavy, hi. I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out can be awkward, scary, or just… a lot. You don’t have to have the perfect words. You don’t have to explain everything at once. I’ll meet you with openness, straightforward feedback, and zero judgment.

There’s no denying that life isn’t always a walk in the park. While I’m sure you can relate to this as an adult, the same goes for kids, teens, and college-age students. Don’t forget, they’re going through this life without a manual, just as you are. But life is also spectacularly beautiful. Unfortunately, the trials faced during any phase of life can often dim that beauty and hold your child back from living the life they deserve. Anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can creep into anyone's life at any age. Mental health challenges can rob them of happiness, self-confidence, and life-fulfillment. I get it. I’ve been in their shoes. As an experienced, understanding, and caring counselor for teens, children, and young adults. I can help support your child, whether they are elementary-school-aged, in the turbulent teenage years, or college-aged. And, because I value being an advocate for kids and an ally for parents, I can support you, too.

Hi, I’m Crystal Rollefson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. Since moving from Hawaii in late 2021, I’ve been working with a small private practice while also beginning to grow my own practice. I hold a Certificate in Play Therapy from Capella University and am currently pursuing credentials to become a Registered Play Therapist in the state of Florida. My professional journey began in substance abuse counseling, where I spent two years supporting adults with addictions, criminal justice involvement, and co-occurring mental health conditions. My approach to therapy is integrative and holistic, combining client-centered care, cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT), mindfulness, and play therapy principles. I believe in empowering individuals by helping them recognize and build upon their strengths—even when those strengths feel hard to find. Together, we can uncover them. I’m also a strong advocate for self-care and self-love as essential components of mental and physical well-being. Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me practicing yoga, enjoying CrossFit, lifting at the gym, camping, or paddleboarding. I strive to bring the same energy of balance and intentional living into my work with clients. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can heal, grow, and thrive—at your own pace and on your own terms.

Search therapists by insurance

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on School Issues?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, School Issues, is filtering therapists in Florida that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
