About me

Welcome, I’m Kaylaliz, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges and transitions. I believe that seeking support is a meaningful step toward growth, healing, and creating a more fulfilling life. I have a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College in Psychology and Sociology and a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Queens College. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate concerns such as anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, and emotional well-being. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes. Outside of my work as a counselor, I enjoy reading, writing, and spending quality time with my pets. These activities allow me to continue nurturing my own creativity, reflection, and connection, values that I bring into my work with clients. I look forward to walking alongside you as you work toward greater understanding, resilience, and personal growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and establish a foundation for our work together. During this session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and the goals you would like to work toward. I understand that beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming, so my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel safe sharing at your own pace. You can expect a collaborative conversation where we explore your experiences, identify areas for growth, and begin developing a plan that is personalized to your needs. We will also review expectations for therapy, confidentiality, scheduling, and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together to support your emotional well-being and personal growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Each person brings their own story, strengths, challenges, and goals, and my approach is centered around creating a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, I bring a compassionate and individualized approach to each session. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship while helping clients explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be your authentic self, feel empowered to grow, and recognize the strengths you already possess. My goal is to walk alongside you throughout your journey while providing guidance, encouragement, and support tailored specifically to your needs.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

An ideal client is one who is ready to begin consistent therapy, receive feedback, and willing to work collaboratively to address any areas of need. Furthermore, the ideal client will be open to sharing concerns, setting realistic goals for themselves, and willing to engage thoroughly. I look forward to working with a client who is willing to work towards identified needs.
