My name is Michael Zolondek. I am a licensed mental health counselor serving both individuals and couples throughout the state of Florida through telehealth. I have clinical experience working with those who have struggled with complex trauma (emotional, physical, and sexual), depression and anxiety, family and romantic relationships, and religion/spirituality. In both my personal experiences and professional work, I have seen how healing a supportive presence can be for those who might be struggling in various areas of their lives, and I look forward to working with you wherever you currently find yourself in life in order to help you discover ways to heal!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I strongly believe in an individual’s ability to heal and change in positive ways when they are offered a safe and affirming environment in which to do so. When we are in session, I will offer you a supportive and non-judgmental space in which you can process your experiences, thoughts, and emotions. I am also aware that many of us do not even know how to begin doing this and that everyone’s therapeutic journey will look different. So our sessions will often also include working together in an effort to determine your unique needs and discover how to help facilitate your healing in the ways that work best for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have found that a so many clients have responded well when using a foundation of person-centered therapy while bringing in more directive interventions derived from cognitive behavioral therapy theories and practices. In addition to this, in many cases where clients have struggled with finding purpose and meaning in life, I have found that elements of Viktor Frankl’s existential therapy can be quite helpful.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are carrying emotional wounds that affect your daily life or find yourself feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, I would consider it a privilege to work with you wherever you currently find yourself in life in order to help you discover ways to heal! Many of the clients I work with are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, family conflict, life transitions, low self-esteem, or a sense that they are not living the life they truly want. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, gain insight into unhelpful patterns, and develop practical tools for growth. Together, we work to identify personal strengths, clarify values, and create realistic goals that align with the life you want to build. Whether you are seeking to improve communication with a partner, strengthen family relationships, manage difficult emotions, or increase confidence in yourself and your decisions, therapy can be a powerful step toward positive change. I believe that growth is possible for everyone, regardless of where they are starting from, and I strive to meet each client with empathy, respect, and genuine curiosity. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs, helping you develop healthier coping skills, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment. I am committed to helping clients move beyond surviving day-to-day challenges and toward creating a life that feels more balanced, connected, and meaningful for themselves and the people they care about most.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that helps individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together, we will develop strategies to challenge negative thinking, build healthier coping skills, and create lasting changes that support improved mood, reduced anxiety, and greater confidence in managing life's challenges.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Rather than trying to eliminate distress, ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility, in other words, learning how to make room for challenging feelings while taking meaningful action aligned with your values. Through mindfulness, self-awareness, and practical coping strategies, I help clients reduce the impact of anxiety, stress, self-criticism, and other obstacles so they can create a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

Existential

Existential therapy can help clients explore questions of meaning, purpose, identity, freedom, and personal responsibility. Together, we examine how life experiences, relationships, values, and choices shape your sense of self and overall well-being. This approach encourages deeper self-reflection and helps clients navigate challenges such as life transitions, uncertainty, grief, and feelings of disconnection. By gaining greater clarity about what matters most, clients can make more intentional choices and create a life that feels authentic and meaningful.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I help partners improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and work through challenges that may be creating conflict or distance in the relationship. Together, we identify patterns that contribute to misunderstandings, strengthen skills for expressing needs and listening effectively, and develop healthier ways of navigating disagreements. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where both partners feel heard, understood, and empowered to build a stronger, more fulfilling relationship.

Trauma Informed Care

I provide trauma-informed care by recognizing the impact that past experiences can have on emotional well-being, relationships, and daily functioning. My approach emphasizes safety, trust, collaboration, and respect for each client's unique experiences and strengths. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work with clients to understand how trauma may influence their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while helping them develop effective coping skills and resilience. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients can heal at their own pace and move toward greater empowerment, stability, and well-being.
