About me

Hello, are you feeling overwhelmed by a difficult life transition or struggling to find your way through a challenging season? You don’t have to navigate it alone. As an experienced therapist, I am passionate about supporting individuals ages 16 and older as they work through life’s challenges and discover their own strength and resilience. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, navigating relationship difficulties, managing family conflicts, or adjusting to changes in school, work, or other areas of life, I am here to support you. I believe that you already have the strength within you to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change. Together, we will explore your experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and create a path toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to become the author of your own story.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session I like to get to know you and meet you where you are. Working together my clients will learn to self reflect, analyze their thoughts and behaviors and create change for self growth.I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have the strength that will assist you in overcoming your challenges. Through building trust, I am here to support & empower you in that journey, if thats with addressing anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, care giver stress or coping with other life changes.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a compassionate, genuine, and straightforward approach to each session. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to create meaningful goals that align with your values, needs, and the life you want to build. Taking the step to seek therapy requires courage, and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. My approach combines honesty, empathy, and encouragement while also incorporating humor when appropriate to help create a comfortable and authentic connection. Together, we will navigate challenges, recognize your progress, and celebrate your strengths along the way. My goal is to empower you to better understand yourself, build confidence, and create meaningful changes that allow you to live a life that feels true to who you are.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with individuals ages 16 and older who are navigating difficult life transitions, personal challenges, and periods of change. I support clients who are seeking growth, improved relationships, and a deeper understanding of themselves in a safe and supportive environment. I especially enjoy working with: - College students and recent graduates who are adjusting to new responsibilities, independence, career decisions, and life transitions. - LGBTQ+ individuals who are exploring identity, navigating relationships, managing life transitions, or seeking a supportive and affirming space to be their authentic selves. - Individuals experiencing relationship challenges, including starting new relationships, navigating breakups, rebuilding trust, healing from betrayal, or improving communication. - Parents of teenagers (ages 16+) who are working through family conflict, communication challenges, and strengthening their relationships with their teens. - Individuals experiencing major life changes, such as starting a new job, relocating, or adjusting to a new environment. - Individuals struggling with anxiety, including feelings of worry, overwhelm, stress, and difficulty managing daily demands. - Goal-oriented individuals who are motivated to create positive changes, build confidence, and work toward personal growth. - Family members of military service members who are navigating the unique challenges, transitions, and stressors that come with military life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you understand and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, giving you practical tools to tackle things like anxiety and stress in your daily life. It's like learning to rewire your brain to think more positively and cope better with life's challenges.

Supportive

Supportive therapy provides a safe and empathetic space to talk about your feelings, challenges, and experiences. It's like having a trusted friend who listens, understands, and offers guidance to help you cope with life's ups and downs.

Strength-Based

Strength-Based Therapy helps you identify and build upon your personal strengths and positive qualities, emphasizing what you're good at rather than just focusing on problems. It's like a path to self-discovery and growth, where you work with a therapist to harness your strengths to overcome challenges and improve your well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT) focuses on helping you find solutions to your problems rather than dwelling on the problems themselves. It's like a "let's fix it" approach where you work with a therapist to set achievable goals and discover the steps to make your life better, often in a shorter amount of time compared to other therapies.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational therapy aims to help you find the motivation and confidence to make positive changes in your life, whether it's quitting a bad habit, achieving personal goals, or overcoming obstacles. It's like having a supportive guide who helps you discover your inner drive and create a plan to reach your desired outcomes.

Alexia is single handedly the best counselor I have ever had. She truly listens and has been working in a way that I specifically need. She makes me feel heard, validates me, works through my thought process, keeps me accountable, and I trust her with my life. I appreciate the way she jumps in ready to tackle things that come my way. I never feel alone with her one call away!
