Hi! I'm Jen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I've had the privilege of being a therapist for the past 12 years and my goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to facilitate your own healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. I will regard you as the expert in your own life and always honor and respect your beliefs, values, and goals.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Entering into therapy is a big step and can be scary! Our first session will be all about getting to know each other and making sure that you are as comfortable as possible with me as your therapist and with our plan for your treatment. We will work together to establish goals to help keep us on track but also keep in mind that these goals may shift or change as we work together.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I am a trained provider in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also have specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. We will work together to determine which approach will be the best fit for you and I'm open to shifting if your needs are not being met.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Most people have likely gone through some form of trauma throughout their lives and I believe that can often be a key factor in what is holding them back. Working with survivors of abuse, rape, domestic violence, emotional abuse, medical trauma, and other forms of trauma is an area that I am passionate about. By creating a space to unlock the underlying pain, emotions, and beliefs that develop as a result of trauma, we can work together to process and move through the trauma you've experienced to give you the support you need to tackle life's many other challenges.
