New to Grow
Hello, and welcome. My name is Princess Ruffin, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and founder of Inner Renewal Counseling and Consulting, LLC. I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate life's challenges while creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for healing and growth. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self-esteem challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs. Together, we will work to build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and support meaningful, lasting change as you move toward your personal goals and overall well-being.
During our first session, we will complete a comprehensive assessment to help me gain a thorough understanding of your concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your current symptoms, relevant life experiences, relationships, coping strategies, and any factors that may be impacting your overall well-being. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share any concerns about the therapy process, and determine whether we are a good fit for working together. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. By the end of our first session, we will begin identifying treatment goals and developing a plan tailored to your unique needs. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer understanding of how therapy can help you move toward healing, growth, and lasting change.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I understand that seeking help can be difficult, and I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, compassion, and collaboration. My approach combines evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and strengths-based interventions, while tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. I help clients gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills they can apply in their daily lives. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance empathy with accountability, providing support while also encouraging meaningful growth and progress. My goal is to help clients build resilience, improve emotional wellness, develop healthier coping strategies, and create lasting changes that support a more fulfilling life.
I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, stress, relationship challenges, and self-esteem concerns. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed by their emotions, struggle with overthinking, carry the weight of past experiences, or find themselves stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I work well with individuals who are seeking greater self-awareness, emotional healing, healthier coping strategies, and personal growth. Whether a client is navigating a difficult life change, processing unresolved trauma, managing daily stressors, or striving to improve their overall well-being, I provide a supportive and collaborative space where they can feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help clients develop practical skills, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting changes that support a healthier and more fulfilling life.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier coping strategies. CBT can be effective for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma-related symptoms, grief, and life transitions. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients can build practical skills that promote emotional wellness and long-term change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify their strengths, recognize existing resources, and focus on achievable goals. Rather than spending extensive time on problems, we work together to explore solutions and build upon what is already working. This approach can be especially helpful for individuals navigating life transitions, relationship concerns, workplace stress, and personal growth.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach is rooted in creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and valued. Using Person-Centered Therapy principles, I believe clients are the experts of their own experiences. I work collaboratively with clients to foster self-awareness, personal growth, and confidence while supporting them through life's challenges.
Trauma Informed Care
As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognize the impact that past experiences can have on emotional, behavioral, and relational functioning. I prioritize safety, trust, empowerment, and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to help clients better understand trauma responses, develop effective coping skills, and move toward healing at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness techniques to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. Mindfulness can help reduce stress, manage anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and increase present-moment awareness. Clients often learn practical strategies they can use in everyday life to promote balance and overall well-being.
