New to Grow
Hello! I’m so glad you took the first step to make meaningful change in your life. I’d love the opportunity to partner with you and learn about your strengths, struggles, and how we move forward together. I believe we all have the answers to the big questions in our lives, but sometimes we get stuck or need a non-judgmental perspective to help us. As someone who grew up in a military family and is now a military spouse, I understand the unique lifestyle and challenges that military spouses face. As someone who has experienced grief and the loss of a loved one to cancer and a baby to miscarriage, I can empathize with loss and the waves of despair that grief can bring. I take an eclectic approach to therapy and aim to meet you wherever you are, drawing on your experiences and providing you with tools to help guide you toward your goals.
My hope is that you walk away from your first session feeling seen, heard, and validated. I will give you the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy, what has worked, what hasn't, and what your goals moving forward are.
I have a variety of life experiences. I will sit back and hold space for you during difficult times, but I also will push you and challenge you to grow. I will ask you questions to get you to think about things differently and help you see the connection between your thoughts and behaviors. I'm flexible, understanding, and patient.
I appreciate motivated clients who are seeking therapy to create change in their life and relationships. I enjoy working with clients that are experiencing life transitions or looking for coping skills to navigate life. I enjoy working with new parents, parents in the thick of raising children and/or caring for their sick parents, empty nesters, retirees and those navigating the demands of caregiving (whether it’s young children, parents, and spouses). I enjoy working with college students, recent graduates, those navigating career change, and finding a work life balance. I enjoy working with those who have experienced new medical diagnoses and who are navigating treatment, options, and balancing quality of life. I appreciate those who are open to learning new tools, strategies, and coping mechanisms.
I aim to help you identify what will most help alleviate your symptoms or struggles and provide you with the tools necessary to improve the quality of your life.
We all have strengths but sometimes when we feel stuck we forget how to use them or doubt ourselves and our ability to improve our lives and make change. My goal is to help you recognize your inherent worth and ability to grow and thrive.
I use motivational interviewing to assess a clients readiness for change and identify barriers to improvement.
In today's fast-paced society, much of our stress is a result of our inability to slow down and implement strategies into our life that help us stay present, enjoy the moment, and be more aware. My goal is to help you harness tools available to you to manage stressors and enjoy your life.
Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. Sometimes we're running on auto-pilot and don't realize how to step back and notice these patterns in our lives and how to make sense of them or change them. My goal is to help you understand and feel empowered to make the necessary changes to see improvement in your life.
