LMHC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
I have been working in the counseling field for the past 10 years. I started out as a counseling intern and have worked my way up to supervising other clinicians. My passion has been in trauma work and I have spent my 10 years in the field with a focus on trauma-informed care working at a certified rape crisis center. I have worked with people of all ages and genders and particularly enjoy helping clients build self-esteem, find new ways to think about issues, and build healthy boundaries in their lives.
Our first session will include some questions about your history and experience with mental health treatment. We'll spend the first session getting to know each other and figuring out what areas we would like to focus in on.
Clients have frequently described me as being a "chill therapist." I am able to be that grounded presence in the room when everything else may feel chaotic. I do well with providing alternative perspectives or levity when life circumstances feel heavy.
Clients I work with are typically motivated toward change and aren't afraid to put in the emotional and mental work to make that change happen.
I have been trained in CPT for 5 years. I utilize CPT for clients who would benefit from a more structured therapy to treat trauma. I find it can be a helpful method to use to help clients put words to their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I am EMDR trained and utilize this type of therapy with clients who have experienced trauma. It can also be used for other mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and grief.
I have 10 years of experience working with trauma and providing trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual abuse/assault and domestic violence.
