Hi, I'm Williette, but you can call me Willie for short. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work in 2010 from Barry University. I've been in the field for over 20 years doing individual therapy, groups, case management services, mental health evaluations; and work with children & families and couples. I started working with adolescents, middle schoolers, when I was in the 11th grade at my church. I didn't realize I was doing "Social Work" until I started college, learning about the field. In my early years in the field, I’ve watched lives transformed for the better; tears of sadness turned into tears of joy; going from isolation to complete freedom. That's when I knew this was my calling and purpose. I have experience working with clients dealing with issues such as traumas, substance use, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, including sexual, emotional and physical abuse. I provide professional, compassionate counseling and support to individuals of all ages, who are experiencing emotional challenges, mental health issues or life transitions.
I provide a safe and nurturing space where you can work through obstacles and openly explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Using a range of modalities including CBT, EMDR, and ACT, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. In our sessions, you’ll develop coping strategies to improve your overall well-being while processing your traumatic memories at the source so you can free yourself of the negative emotions attached to them.
I am very big on strength-based and empowerment. I believe we all have the capabilities to overcome any obstacles in our lives. Sometimes it takes someone from the outside, such as professional, to point us in the right direction on how to tap into our strengths. It boosts thier self confidence and makes them feel more happier.
CBT help patients identify and change negative or irrational thoughts that can worsen their emotions and behavior.
Trauma-Focused CBT teaches patients coping skills like relaxation techniques, emotion regulation and cognitive restructuring while gradually exposing them to trauma related memories safely.
