As a licensed mental health counseling provider in the state of Florida with 8 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, both children and adults, on a wide range of challenges. My expertise includes trauma, adoption, family conflicts, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues affecting children. I am dedicated to implementing trauma-informed therapies, mindfulness, CBT, and somatic therapies in my practice. Being bilingual and culturally sensitive, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space for individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and a commitment to tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs of each client. I am passionate about offering support, guidance, and empowering individuals on their journey towards improved mental well-being.
In our first session together, I provide psychoeducation and introduction to what clients can expect from the process. Right after we can dive into the problem, what brings you here? This will help me to better assess client's therapeutic needs and plan for treatment.
Being culturally sensitive is crucial for mental health professionals because it acknowledges the diversity of beliefs, values, traditions, and experiences that shapes an individual's identity and worldview. When clients feels understood and respected within the context of their cultural background, they are more likely to feel comfortable and trusting of their counselor. This leads to improved communication, a stronger therapeutic alliance and ultimately more effective treatment outcomes. Cultural sensitivity also allows mental health professionals to better understand the unique stressors, traumas, and systemic barriers that some clients may face due to their cultural background. By recognizing and addressing these factors, counselors can provide more personalized and relevant support, which can lead to more successful interventions and better overall mental health care.
I used TF-CBT to assist clients to increase self awareness into how trauma has a particular way to alter and distort the core believes they hold about themselves, their abilities and capabilities.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy allows us to map a road back to our present, and that helps clients who particularly feel stuck with trauma responses.
I have been practicing Solution-Focused Treatment modalities for several years to help clients to get in touch with their inner resources and to utilize positive coping skills they already posses to achieve a desired outcome.
I have 8 years experience with utilizing CBT with my clients to problem-solve. We will work together to discover how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. Then we'll use that knowledge to identify which thinking patterns are distorted and sabotaging the desire outcomes. We will work on replacing these for more accurate and efficient thinking patterns, which will help you to live a better life.
I dedicate good amount of time to psychoeducation each client throughout the process. With this treatment, I will provide knowledge, resources and positive coping skills to clients to help them understand their stories and how to elicit change.
