You are capable, dependable, and used to carrying a great deal on your shoulders. Others often look to you for support, strength, and stability. But even the strongest people can begin to feel emotionally exhausted when stress becomes constant and there is little time to rest, recover, or care for themselves. I specialize in working with healthcare professionals, caregivers, leaders, and high-achieving adults who are experiencing burnout, chronic stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients are functioning well on the outside while internally feeling drained, mentally overloaded, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about their sense of purpose. With over 13 years of clinical experience across healthcare systems, private practice, and community settings, I understand how prolonged pressure and responsibility can quietly impact emotional well-being. My approach is warm, supportive, and grounded in helping clients slow down, reconnect with themselves, strengthen healthy boundaries, and build a more sustainable and balanced way of living — not just surviving.

I've been blessed to have wonderful professional positions throughout my career (see roderickhaferphd.com). Most recently I was Vice-Chair of the Psychiatry Department at the University of Wisconsin. I enjoy working with all client presentations and believe that the "connection" with those I treat is critical to therapy success. I think a 15 to 30 minute free consultation would be the best approach to determine "our fit" in working together.

Over the years, I have learned valuable resources for stress reduction through grounding techniques using the breath and cognitive restructuring to produce a calmer state of being. I participated in an all-day training for clinicians to learn how to apply nature-based interventions and tools for individuals interested in this intervention. Evidence-based studies show how nature therapy reduces stress, heart rate, and blood pressure, and boosts positive moods. I’m Osvaldo Santiago, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut, with over 10 years of experience supporting adults on their path toward greater clarity, healing, and self-acceptance. My work is grounded in the belief that therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely seen, safe, and empowered, especially if you’ve felt overlooked, misunderstood, or disconnected in other parts of your life. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. I bring a calm, nonjudgmental presence to the therapy room, and I meet you where you are- whether you’re navigating anxiety, cultural identity stress, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, or past trauma. In sessions, I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. These approaches offer structure and flexibility, helping us identify what’s getting in the way and build tools to support your growth and well-being. That said, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model, I stay adaptable and responsive to what you need most in the moment. Outside of therapy, I value the same things I support my clients in cultivating: meaningful relationships, mindfulness, resilience, and space to breathe. I believe in showing up fully, both as a clinician and as a human being, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate whatever comes next.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Massachusetts rather than a city like Boston?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Massachusetts. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Massachusetts from Springfield to Cape Cod! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Massachusetts.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use.
