Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. I’m Jessie Presbie, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Massachusetts with over 10 years of experience working with children, adults, couples, and families. I believe that reaching out for therapy can be both difficult and incredibly meaningful. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply know that something needs to change, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and confidence. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I don’t believe there is a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. I want to understand your story, your relationships, your strengths, and what matters most to you. Together, we’ll work to better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change that feels realistic and sustainable. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, feel genuinely heard, and show up as your authentic self, without judgment. Whether you’re working through anxiety, relationship or family challenges, a major life transition, or simply feeling like you’re struggling to find your footing, I’m here to support you. Taking that first step can feel intimidating, but you’ve already taken an important one by being here. I’d be honored to learn more about you and help you move toward feeling more connected, confident, and at ease in your life. Jessie Presbie, LMFT

Hello, I'm Tegan! I’m a clinical psychologist living in Virginia with my husband, three children, and two labradors. Thanks for checking out my profile. Below you'll find a bit about my work experience and how it shapes what I do in sessions: Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, schools, Probate and Family Court, and private practice. Working in these different environments has helped me understand the bigger picture of how family, school, and other systems can affect a person’s well-being. I enjoy working with people of all ages, but I have a particular interest in working with infants and young children. Being a parent myself has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges and joys that come with raising children, and it helps me connect with both kids and their parents. I also have experience conducting psychological evaluations, which has given me a strong understanding of the testing process, learning disabilities, and the Special Education system. My experience conducting Autism evaluations has also helped me better understand and support neurodivergent individuals and appreciate the different ways people experience the world. Most importantly, I try to meet each person where they are and understand them in the context of their family, relationships, and everyday life.

I bring a holistic counseling approach to my work with clients, with an emphasis on physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and psychological well-being. While exploring the nature and impact of mental illness is very important, I think it is just as important to help clients develop practical strategies to restore balance and learn skills for happiness and thriving. My counseling approach integrates techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and mood disorders; internal family systems (IFS) and eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for healing complex and acute trauma; as well as exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy for phobias and OCD. Additionally, I integrate current research from the field of positive psychology, as well as Eastern and Western philosophical traditions, into my counseling approach to meet every client's individual needs. I am an inclusive and affirming therapist who is humble and respectful regarding domains of human diversity. My sessions are an affirming and safe place for LGBTQ+ clients and anyone who is impacted by systems of racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, and other forms of marginalization by society. I have several years of experience working as a therapist and have been working with clients in helping roles for over a decade. My background includes working as an outpatient therapist in community mental health, higher education, intensive OCD treatment, as well as telehealth and private practice settings. I have prior experience working in other helping roles as well including child welfare, public health, and home healthcare fields. Throughout these experiences, I have remained deeply committed to helping others heal, grow, and thrive. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my approach. I look forward to working with you!

Motherhood is a profound journey marked by both beauty and upheaval. Whether your path to this moment has been long-anticipated or unexpected, the transition into motherhood often brings a whirlwind of emotions. Anxiety and depression during pregnancy and the postpartum period are more common than many realize, with maternal depression being the leading complication of childbirth. The shift from your pre-motherhood identity to caring for a newborn can be one of the toughest transitions you’ll ever experience. As a dedicated mental health professional, I am passionate about supporting individuals through some of life's most significant and challenging transitions. I offer various approaches, including talk therapy, art therapy, mindfulness and meditation practices, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). These methods are designed to help you express your feelings, redefine your identity, and find a sense of balance and well-being in this new chapter of your life.

Have you tried therapy but just didn’t get anywhere? New to therapy and not sure what to look for? Have a great life but feeling unfulfilled, having trouble navigating important relationships, or experiencing strong feelings that seem to come out of nowhere? I’ve worked with clients to explore these and similar issues in the many years I’ve provided therapy. I have an uncanny ability to gently and compassionately challenge what may be happening, often leading to insight and a new found ability to make real and lasting changes so you can focus on what matters most to you: your family, your education, your career, your mental well-being. Whether you are dealing with Relationship/friendship issues, parenting challenges, workplace issues or unresolved conflicts, I listen with an understanding ear. I help people address intense anxiety, ADHD, and mild depression even when most components in life seem to be going quite well. Sometimes things aren’t working because, well, they’re not working. My clients include people from various backgrounds and situations, from intact families to those estranged or low/no contact in family status. I see clients employed as teachers, nurses, research scientists, a dentist, a CEO, an HR executive, a cheese monger, both new and seasoned “stay-at-home” care-givers and many people studying in college, graduate programs, or obtaining post-graduate degrees. Whoever you are, from whatever background, I listen intently to your story and can help bring awareness into what may be obstacles to living a peaceful, serene, healthy life. As different as people are, I have discovered that some of our patterns and dynamics are very much the same. You don’t have to carry your emotional pain all on your own. I can help.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist working with adults who may appear high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally unsettled beneath the surface. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, self-doubt, or persistent patterns they can’t quite untangle on their own. My style is thoughtful, steady, and insight-oriented. I integrate practical tools for emotional regulation with deeper exploration of relational patterns and attachment dynamics. I believe therapy should feel both grounding and meaningful — a place where you can slow down, understand yourself more clearly, and begin shifting patterns that no longer serve you. Clients often describe me as calm, direct, and attuned. I aim to create a space that feels safe enough for honesty and structured enough for real change. My work focuses not only on reducing symptoms, but on building emotional clarity, stability, and more secure ways of relating — to others and to yourself. I'm self aware, having chosen a pathway of self exploration to become my best self. I am a survivor of my story, who has always known the importance of never surrendering to any situation life hands me. My resilience and positivity have guided my decisions to choose fighting like hell to be the greatest version of myself. I live passionately with growing self esteem as a result of having the highest priority on SELF LOVE. My treatment approach will always be action focused. Many clients that I have mentored with eating compulsions have had favorable outcomes as a result of our therapeutic relationship. I am a survivor of acting out with food, including a period of 17 years of battling bulimia, and a lifetime of searching for PEACE from food addiction. Since October 2004 I have lived in recovery, with no episodes of bulimic behaviors, and have a healthy relationship with food beyond my wildest dreams. I have found the PEACE I have been searching for which motivates me to help others to live in a healthy body. I have shared this struggle to allow you a deeper understanding of my personal story. I believe everything I have survived has provided life lessons that have humbled me and allowed me to see the humanity in everyone. We all possess so much untapped power that , if accessed, can help us achieve our goals and become the best version of ourselves! I have the skills to help you too, I believe that is why I'm here.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community mental health, crisis intervention, outpatient therapy, and telehealth. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges while tailoring treatment to each person's unique needs and goals. My priority is building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted, empowered, and supported throughout your journey. Healing isn't about being perfect—it's about making meaningful progress, one step at a time. I would be honored to be part of that journey with you.

Hi! I’m really glad you’re here. If you’re feeling anxious, low, or stuck in patterns that are hard to break, whether it's around your emotions, relationships, or day-to-day life, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. I’m currently accepting new clients, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this part of your journey. I work with people who are tired of just getting through the day and wondering if things will ever feel easier. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you’re carrying too much on your own, therapy can be a place to finally exhale. I offer a space where you can be real, slow down, and start sorting through what’s been weighing you down. My style is warm, honest, and supportive. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll gently explore what’s behind the stress, heaviness, or patterns that keep showing up. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but with the right support, meaningful change is possible. If any of this resonates with you, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to answer any questions and help you feel more at ease about starting therapy. I look forward to meeting with you and being part of your healing journey!

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
