Sean Romanski
Hi, my name is Sean and I would like to welcome you to therapy. If you are feeling stressed, stuck, and/or overwhelmed with life circumstances, you have come to the right place. I have been passionate about providing therapy to clients of all ages and genders for many years. Therapy can lead to insight and growth and help build a quality of life that you truly deserve. If you are interested in speaking further about the potential on the horizon, please reach out. I will be here when you are ready.
First session
Your first session welcomes you to therapy and begins laying the foundation for a supportive, trusting and collaborative process. You are in a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space that values you as the client. You can talk openly about what's on your mind, how you feel, organize your thoughts, and begin identifying meaningful goals. You only need to share what you are comfortable with.
Strengths
My approach is affirming, collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in respect for your individual experiences. I am an active listener who will ensure you feel heard. I take time to understand your perspectives, strengths, and needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all plan. You can speak openly about what you are experiencing and identify the goals that matter most to you. Whether you are managing a current challenge, navigating a transition, or looking for greater clarity, we can begin wherever you are. Moreover, I am always interested in hearing if you feel therapy is helpful and you are making progress. I am committed to being flexible and adjusting the course and style of therapy if and when you need to. Together, we can build insight, identify practical next steps, and develop strategies that feel realistic and useful in your everyday life.
Ideal clients
I am available to support clients of all ages and genders, immaterial of the presenting concerns. Your concerns could be related to aging, anger, anxiety, depression, family conflict, interpersonal conflict, substance use or abuse, and/or traumatic events. You will be afforded a safe space to discuss your concerns. You will be able to set goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, and realistic.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a communication style designed to support active listening and client autonomy. You will feel heard and supported to focus on specific goals for your therapy experience. Change can be challenging. You may even enjoy some of the things you seek to change. This is often a completely normal experience. We will explore your goals in a non-judgmental and validating manner.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a structured goal-oriented model that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Having racing thoughts and feeling angry, sad, and/or worried are often normal experiences for many of us. When experiences impact your functioning, this may result in distress and/or conflict. We will collaborate to identify patterns that you may experience as unhelpful and develop coping skills that may help you resolve your concerns.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Solution Focused Therapy is a future orientated model. We will collaborate to determine solutions that could help you move forward towards your preferred future. This includes exploring your strengths and resources that can be utilized as key supports during your therapy journey.
Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma Informed Care is a framework that ensures therapy offers you a safe space where psychological and emotional safety is paramount. You will be empowered to have a voice and choice during the therapy process. Moreover, you will feel a sense of trustworthiness and transparency during your therapy journey.
