New to Grow
I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported without judgment. My goal is to create a space where people can speak openly about what they are struggling with while also feeling understood as a whole person, not just a diagnosis or problem to solve. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming at times, so I work to create an environment that is calm, collaborative, and focused on helping clients feel safe enough to grow and make meaningful changes.
The first session is about creating a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. My goal is to help you feel at ease so that therapy does not feel intimidating or overwhelming. We will spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, and discussing any concerns, goals, or challenges you may be experiencing. There is no pressure to share everything immediately or “have it all figured out.” Therapy is a process, and the first session is focused on helping you feel comfortable opening up at your own pace. I approach sessions with empathy, attentiveness, and without judgment, while also working collaboratively to understand what support would be most helpful for you. By the end of the session, my hope is that you leave feeling listened to, understood, and more confident about the direction we can take together moving forward.
I take a balanced approach to sessions, depending on what you are looking for and what will be helpful at each point in your process. Sometimes there is value in leaving space for thoughts to come along naturally and other times there's a need to push back and challenge thoughts that are not helping or actively hurting.
I am best positioned to serve teens and young adults who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, people who might feel like they are constantly under pressure to perform and excel. My goal is to support my clients in finding new ways to approach things that they have been struggling with for a while, exploring different perspectives. I want to help clients find solutions that may feel just out of reach right now.
