I am a Licensed Independent Clinician with eighteen years of experience. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, loss, and addiction. I am a trauma-informed therapist with training and experience in multitude of modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I received my master’s degree in social work from Boston College School of Social Work. I have experience collaborating with a diverse clientele.
I strive to create a safe space that is supportive and non-judgmental where the client can process difficult emotions.
My focus is to assist the client navigate pathways to achieve their therapeutic goals and personal growth potential. I utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques rooted in CBT in formulating therapeutic goals and treatment plans with the client.
Whether a client is going through major life changes or seeking to acquire or improve coping skills, or change behaviors that do not serve them, my focus is to assist the client navigate pathways to achieve their therapeutic goals and personal growth potential. My approach to therapy practice is collaborative, strengths based, and purposeful. I strive to create a safe space that is supportive and non-judgmental where the client can process difficult emotions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In my experience observing and accepting your thoughts and feelings as they are, rather than fighting to control or avoid them helps most individuals in reframing their cognitive experiences.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Understanding circular connections and patterns of thoughts, behaviors and emotions is key in saucerful application of behavioral modification. I find CBT highly effective for conditions like anxiety and depression.
Psychodynamic
I utilized person centered method to help my clients recognize their own unique set of past and present experiences to understand their own psychological make-up.
Positive Psychology
I incorporate strength base approach, gratitude journaling positive affirmation and mindfulness techniques to apply positive psychology.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Safe space, meeting where the client is, matching the pace of the client and active listening skills are some of the tools I utilize in Trauma focused CBT.
