My name is Glenroy Bristol. I am an English-speaking Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. For the past 18+ years. My approach to therapy is collaborative, evidence-based, and deeply centered on helping clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and practical tools for lasting change. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist in private practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families to identify the patterns of thinking, behavior, and emotional responses that may be contributing to distress, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, low self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges. I believe that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge distorted beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to life’s challenges. My therapeutic style is supportive, structured, goal-oriented, and compassionate, and it also encourages accountability, personal growth, and emotional resilience. I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management difficulties, trauma-related concerns, relationship conflict, identity struggles, adjustment challenges, grief, self-defeating patterns, and difficulties related to life transitions. I also work with couples to improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional connection, and develop healthier relational dynamics. My approach is culturally sensitive, client-centered, and grounded in respect, empathy, and professionalism. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore difficult emotions while building healthier ways of coping and functioning.
During our first consultation intake session, individuals are encouraged to ask any burning questions they may have about therapy in general or me as a therapist in particular. I would explain the various treatment approaches I specialize in, which will help individuals understand what future sessions may look like. In turn, I would like to know what prompted clients to seek treatment. Clients can expect their first session with me to be welcoming, supportive, and focused on creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns and experiences. I understand that beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming for some individuals, so I approach the initial session with empathy, professionalism, and respect for each client’s pace and comfort level. Also, some information about their background, their life circumstances, any past treatment they have sought, and their goals for therapy. During the first session, my primary goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s current challenges, emotional concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for therapy. We will discuss what brought them to treatment, how their concerns are impacting their daily functioning, relationships, emotional well-being, or overall quality of life, and what they hope to achieve through the therapeutic process.
As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I also begin helping clients identify patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, or other concerns. Clients can expect a collaborative conversation rather than feeling judged or pressured. I believe therapy works best when clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in the process. The first session often includes: • Discussing presenting concerns and personal history • Exploring current stressors, symptoms, and emotional experiences • Identifying strengths, coping strategies, and support systems • Clarifying treatment goals and expectations for therapy • Providing education about the therapeutic process and how CBT works Together, we typically establish initial goals that are realistic, measurable, and tailored to the client’s unique needs. These goals may include reducing anxiety or depressive symptoms, improving self-esteem, strengthening communication skills, managing stress more effectively, developing healthier thought patterns, improving relationships, processing difficult experiences, or increasing emotional stability.
Because psychotherapy is a transformative journey where one can dive into their interior world and gently unpack their story. I'm looking to be a guide to help individuals who have decided to take a positive step forward to manage their well-being and mental health effectively and engage in a deeper relationship with themselves. My goal is to educate and encourage individuals to take an integrative lifestyle (whole body system) approach to achieving and maintaining overall good health, wellness, and disease prevention.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and behavior are interconnected, and altering one can lead to changes in the others. As a Therapist for the past 16 years, my goal has been to act as a guide, helping individuals explore their thought-life to identify and challenge thought distortions that lead to feelings and behaviors that are self-destructive. I help individuals to develop healthier coping strategies through cognitive restructuring, exposure therapy, and behavioral activation.

Glen was welcoming, humorous, asked thought provoking questions and gave equitable space for both my partner and i to give our opinions in our answers.

Glenroy helped me a lot this first session. In this first session, he really helped me to start to unpack what I'm thinking about myself and my relationships.

I really liked him straight off the bat and he made me feel comfortable and related to! Also seemed like the kind of person who will help me apply functional solutions to the situations I mention in our sessions.
