New to Grow
Hi, I’m Carolyn, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping people navigate life’s changes and challenges. I see therapy as a space for real connection where you can feel safe, understood, and supported. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you make meaningful progress at your own pace. I believe that everyone’s experience with mental health is unique, and I want you to understand your diagnosis and your growth in a way that makes sense for you. I’ve worked with clients across the lifespan—from adolescents to adults and older adults—and bring years of experience providing therapy in both group and individual settings. My approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques. I’m deeply committed to creating an authentic and down-to-earth space where healing feels possible.
During that first meeting, we’ll take time to get to know each other, talk about what brought you to therapy, and explore the changes you’d like to see in your life. I’ll walk you through what therapy might look like with me—how often we might meet, what approaches could be helpful, and what goals we’ll work toward together. You can expect a lot of listening, curiosity, and space to be yourself. We’ll also go over confidentiality and practical things like scheduling and policies, because I want everything to feel transparent and comfortable from the start.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to meet people where they are. I show up as myself—real, compassionate, and human. Therapy isn’t about perfection; it’s about connection, understanding, and growth. I believe that change happens when people feel truly seen and accepted, and that’s what I aim to offer in every session. Clients often describe me as warm, relatable, and understanding. I bring a natural empathy that helps people feel at ease, whether we’re laughing about life’s ironies or unpacking difficult emotions.
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are seeking support with anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, and cultural or identity-related challenges. I also have experience helping individuals and families cope with trauma, loss, and caregiver stress. I’m especially drawn to working with young people navigating change—whether it’s starting college, entering adulthood, or redefining what’s next. I know how important it is to have a safe space to talk through what’s hard and to find ways to move forward that feel authentic to you. If you’re ready for a therapist who listens, meets you where you are, and helps you discover your own capacity for growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
In my work with clients, I use Solution-Focused Therapy to emphasize accountability and personal growth. Together, we focus on taking responsibility for our actions and emotions while identifying practical solutions to the challenges we face. This approach encourages clients to build on their strengths, develop new perspectives, and find effective ways to overcome similar issues in the future. It’s about moving forward with purpose and confidence, one solution at a time.
In my work with clients, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that impact emotions and behaviors. Together, we build awareness of how our thoughts influence how we feel and act, while taking accountability for making positive changes. This approach focuses on developing healthier coping strategies, managing difficult emotions, and learning practical tools to overcome challenges now and in the future.
In my work with clients, I use a culturally sensitive approach that values each person’s unique background, beliefs, and lived experiences. I strive to create a safe, respectful space where culture, identity, and personal history are understood and honored. Together, we explore how these factors shape emotions, relationships, and perspectives, while working toward healing, self-awareness, and growth. This approach promotes accountability, understanding, and empowerment across all cultural experiences.
