My name is Dhaima Chin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Qualified Supervisor with over 16 years of experience providing mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am the owner and lead clinician of Miami Gardens Counseling, where I provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment to clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, occupational stress, and other mental health concerns. My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and strength-based. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and achieve meaningful personal goals. My mission is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and thrive.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, my goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, reviewing your personal history, and identifying the challenges, concerns, or goals that are most important to you. I will ask questions about your emotional well-being, relationships, family background, medical and mental health history, current stressors, and strengths. This information helps me gain a better understanding of your unique experiences and allows us to develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapy process, discuss any concerns you may have, and determine whether we are a good fit for working together. By the end of the session, we will begin identifying goals for treatment and discuss a plan for moving forward. My approach is collaborative, meaning we will work together to create meaningful and achievable goals that support your growth, healing, and overall well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to create a genuine, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients feel safe being themselves. I believe that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship, and I strive to ensure that every client feels heard, respected, and understood. My approach stands out because I balance compassion with practical, solution-focused strategies. I help clients not only process difficult emotions and experiences but also develop concrete tools they can use in their daily lives. Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care, I tailor treatment to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals. With over 16 years of experience working with diverse populations, I bring a deep understanding of challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, workplace stress, relationship concerns, and emotional wellness. Clients often describe me as approachable, empathetic, honest, and easy to talk to. I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their resilience, build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. My goal is not only to help clients overcome current challenges but also to empower them with the insight and skills needed to thrive long after therapy has ended.`

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Helping You Manage Anxiety, Stress & Life Transitions While Balancing Work and Life I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps individuals manage anxiety, stress, and everyday life challenges while balancing work, relationships, and personal responsibilities. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning but feel overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, or stuck. You may be doing everything you’re supposed to do, but still feel like something is off. My goal is to help you slow down, gain clarity, and feel more in control of your emotions and decisions. My approach is supportive, practical, and focused on real-life solutions. I use evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help you understand your patterns, improve emotional regulation, and develop tools you can actually use outside of sessions. I provide a space where you can be open, honest, and yourself without judgment. Together, we will work on building confidence, setting boundaries, improving communication, and creating a healthier balance in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT in my practice for the past ten years. It's helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We'll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We'll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a more relaxed and less stressful life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a strengths-based, goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on helping clients identify solutions rather than extensively analyzing problems. In my practice, I use SFBT to help clients recognize their existing strengths, resources, and past successes while developing practical strategies to achieve their desired goals. I begin by collaborating with clients to clearly define what they would like to be different in their lives. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or deficits, I encourage clients to describe their preferred future and identify specific, measurable changes they would like to see. This helps establish hope and direction for treatment.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centered, and evidence-based counseling approach designed to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. In my practice, I use MI to support clients in identifying their own motivations for change while respecting their autonomy and readiness to take action. I frequently incorporate Motivational Interviewing when working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, health behavior changes, relationship difficulties, treatment adherence challenges, occupational stress, and life transitions. By helping clients discover their own reasons for change, MI promotes increased engagement, empowerment, and long-term success in achieving therapeutic goals.
