I work with adults who are tired of just getting through the day and want to start feeling like themselves again. Many of my clients struggle with the effects of trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, difficult life experiences, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, veteran, and trauma therapist, I bring both professional expertise and real-world experience to the therapy room. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely understands and is invested in your growth, not a place where you're judged or told what to do. I use evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques. Together, we'll identify what's keeping you stuck, develop tools that fit your life, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Clients often describe me as warm, down-to-earth, direct when needed, and easy to talk to. I value authenticity and strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Whether you're processing past experiences, navigating a major life transition, or simply looking for greater peace and confidence, therapy can help. My goal is to help you move beyond survival mode and build a life that feels more grounded, connected, and fulfilling.

I have always wanted to help people and have been happy to lend an ear or a shoulder to anyone in my path who has ever wanted or needed that. Since adolescence I have been a natural therapist to those around me working my way to where I am now, and I couldn't be happier doing this work. We all need someone to talk to who can help us navigate some of life's challenges. Sometimes we are lucky enough to have a friend or loved one who can give us what we need, but sometimes we need a different perspective or a neutral ear. It is important to know that you don't have to do it alone. If you are feeling overwhelmed by life or struggling to work through some difficulties on your own, support is a helpful and a good thing to seek and accept. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. My goal is to provide an overall experience where you feel comfortable, welcomed and supported in this part of the journey. I use a trauma-informed connection and compassion focused, client lead, strengths based, talk therapy approach. I incorporate evidence based modalities such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, relaxation techniques and structured grief work. Come as you are, I will affirm you and support you in being your most authentic self. The healing journey is personal, non-linear and can feel overwhelming. One of my favorite quotes about therapy is “Therapy is a gift. It is a chance to finally be heard, understood and supported.” If you are ready to take this step and gift this to yourself, I am ready to unconditionally hear and hold your experiences with you on this journey.

Originally from New Jersey, I earned my B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I moved to New York City in 1997 and completed my MSW at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. In 2000, I completed a certification in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health. Immediately after moving to Florida later that year in 2002, I completed additional coursework at Barry University and obtained my social work licensure in Florida. I have worked with children, adolescents and young adults in several areas utilizing a diverse spectrum of training for 25 years. These include loss and bereavement, trauma, crisis, eating disorders, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders. I started my private practice in 2003 in Miami. Using my background in several orientations and theories, along with experience gained over a long clinical social work career, I conduct comprehensive assessments that best address areas of emotional and behavioral concerns. I stay up to date on all the most effective training and information and aim to create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment by meeting each individual where they are in their struggles and development. This process helps one discover the inherent strengths that allow change to happen ensuring best therapeutic results.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
