In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session provides an opportunity to establish rapport, assess your needs, and begin clarifying your therapeutic goals. Therapy is a structured, ongoing process—it is not a quick solution, and meaningful change requires time, commitment, and active participation. This initial session is part of the foundation for your growth, and it may also assess your motivation, engagement, and readiness for the work ahead. Together, we will develop a plan to support your progress and overall well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are in delivering personalized, evidence-based care that supports both immediate needs and long-term growth. I utilize approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt, and trauma-informed care to tailor support to each client’s unique circumstances. With experience across diverse settings, I am able to adapt interventions to a wide range of challenges. I excel at building strong therapeutic relationships, fostering insight, and equipping clients with practical skills that promote lasting improvements in emotional well-being, coping strategies, and overall functioning.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals ages 18 and older who are experiencing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and difficulties with emotional regulation or relationships. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain, but are open to growth and developing healthier coping strategies. I support individuals who are motivated to improve their mental health, build insight, and work toward goals such as increased stability, improved self-esteem, better communication, and overall well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in practice by helping clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work with them to recognize negative or unhelpful thinking patterns and challenge those thoughts with more balanced, realistic perspectives. Through guided exercises and homework, clients learn practical coping skills to manage distress, improve emotional regulation, and make healthier behavioral choices in their daily lives.

Family Therapy

I use family therapy to support improved communication, strengthen relationships, and address patterns that may be contributing to conflict or distress within the family system. I help family members express their thoughts and feelings in a safe, structured environment while teaching skills such as active listening, problem-solving, and healthy boundary setting. The goal is to promote understanding, increase support, and create more effective ways of interacting with one another.

Grief Therapy

I use grief therapy to help clients process loss, understand their emotional responses, and navigate the grieving process at their own pace. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients can express feelings such as sadness, anger, or confusion while exploring the impact of the loss on their daily lives. I also help clients develop coping strategies, find meaning, and gradually adjust to life after loss while honoring their connection to what or who they have lost.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change in a supportive, nonjudgmental way. I guide clients in identifying their own reasons for change, strengthening their motivation, and building confidence in their ability to take action. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations, I help clients move toward meaningful, self-directed goals.

Gestalt

I use Gestalt therapy to help clients increase awareness of their present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I encourage clients to focus on the “here and now” and explore how past experiences may be influencing their current functioning. Through experiential techniques, I support clients in gaining insight, taking responsibility, and developing a deeper understanding of themselves.
