LMHC, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
I have been a therapist for 20 years, and am also a Certified Grief Counselor. I also have experience in corrections, substance abuse clinics, and residential treatment facilities. I can help you address and resolve the concerns that are bringing you to therapy. You deserve support that meets you where you are. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, seeking clarity, looking to make sense of it all, or just need space to breathe, please reach out. I’d be happy to help.
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other. I will gather information from you about what is leading you to seek therapy at this time and what support I can provide.
I utilize a strength-based approach and will help you recognize that you may already possess the skills necessary to improve your mental health. Sometimes, we need another person to help us find the way out of the situation that is causing our distress.
I enjoy working with clients who are going through life transitions or seeking solutions with the support of an empathetic counselor. I have years of experience working with clients with addictions and their family members.
I've used Motivational Interviewing as a counseling approach to helps individuals find the motivation to make positive decisions and accomplish established goals. This involves a collaborative conversation that strengthens a person's own motivation and commitment to change. It can help to address ambivalence about change, focusing on enhancing motivation and commitment to a specific goal.
I utilized CBT to help individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. This leads to learning new and healthier coping strategies, as well as improved emotional well-being.
With solution-focused therapy, we identify and build on the client's existing strengths and resources, while setting future-oriented, achievable goals.
