New to Grow
I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest, feel understood, and still be challenged to grow. I work with adults navigating addiction and recovery, trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is warm, direct, practical, and judgment-free, with a focus on helping you understand what keeps you stuck and build a life that actually feels like yours.
Your first session won’t feel like an interrogation or a race to tell me your entire life story. We’ll start with what brought you in and let the conversation unfold naturally. You’re always in control of what you share and when—although many people are surprised by how much comes out once they feel comfortable. By the end, my hope is that you feel understood, a little less overwhelmed, and that we have a sense of where we’re headed together.
I bring authenticity, humor, compassion, and a healthy amount of challenge to therapy. I’ll sit with you through the hard stuff without judgment, but I won’t just nod and agree with everything either. My own life experiences taught me the value of getting curious about what’s underneath our behaviors. I’ll help you understand your patterns, recognize your strengths, and turn insight into real change.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to understand themselves on a deeper level, even if they’re not quite sure where to begin. You may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, addiction or recovery, relationships, self-worth, or simply feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You don’t need to have it all figured out. I work best with people willing to be curious, honest, and open to both insight and change.
I use ACT to help clients identify what truly matters to them and begin making choices that move them toward that life. Rather than waiting until difficult thoughts or feelings disappear, we work on changing your relationship with them. Sometimes you can’t think your way into feeling differently—but you can begin acting in ways that align with your values, and often your thinking and emotions begin to follow.
I use a person-centered approach because I believe meaningful therapy starts with a genuine relationship. I’ll meet you with curiosity, compassion, humor, and honesty rather than judgment. You are the expert on your own experience, while my role is to help you see patterns, ask the questions that may be difficult to ask yourself, recognize your strengths, and challenge you when growth requires it.
I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck. We’ll question beliefs that are no longer helpful and, just as importantly, practice responding differently. Insight is valuable, but I want to help you take what you learn about yourself in therapy and turn it into meaningful change in everyday life.
I use a trauma-informed approach to understand behavior in the context of what you’ve experienced rather than viewing it as something “wrong” with you. We’ll get curious about where patterns came from, what they may have helped you survive or cope with, and whether they’re still serving you today. Our work emphasizes safety, choice, trust, and helping you develop new ways of responding without shame.
I use Motivational Interviewing when part of you wants change and another part isn’t so sure—and that’s more common than people realize. Instead of telling you what you should do, I’ll help you explore what’s holding you back, what matters to you, and your own reasons for wanting something different. Change tends to last longer when it belongs to you rather than being something someone else convinced you to do.
