Hey there, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. I received my masters in Social Work from the University of New England, and my Bachelor's in Social Work from North Carolina Central University. I have been a Social Worker for 11 years, working in various areas to include adolescents, geriatric, maternal health, medical and mental health. I enjoy engaging with individuals from all walks of life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During your first session, you will be able to ask questions and familiarize yourself with therapy if this is new to you. A comprehensive assessment will be completed so I may learn about you and to assess your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is the ability to understand and accept individuals who are similar and different from me while maintaining a respectful and unbiased therapeutic relationship.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist I have used Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has seen its transformative power firsthand. Previous clients' negative thought patterns were challenged and replaced with more balanced thinking, leading to increased confidence and self-compassion. After conclusion of treatment, clients continue to be well, using the skills learned in therapy to navigate life's challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing has allowed me to empower clients to tap into their inner motivations and drive towards change. By using open-ended questions, reflections, and empathetic listening, I've witnessed clients overcome seemingly impossible obstacles and achieve remarkable successes. From helping individuals struggling with addiction to tackle their weaknesses and develop a plan for sobriety, to guiding patients with chronic illness to adopt healthy habits and self-care practices, Motivational Interviewing has consistently demonstrated its ability to facilitate meaningful progress.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

By focusing on identifying and building clients' strengths and resources, rather than dwelling on problems or pathologies, Solution Focused Brief Treatment has empowered my clients to tap into their inner resilience and drive. I've witnessed clients overcome anxiety disorders, manage chronic pain, and develop effective coping strategies for dealing with trauma. The most remarkable aspect of this modality is its ability to produce rapid and sustainable results, often within a short period of time.
