Welcome! I'm Lisa. First, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards working on improving your mental health. I know starting therapy can be scary and empowering at the same time. During sessions, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to their mental health including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, parenting challenges and everyday stressors. I focus on helping clients develop new strategies and boundaries in order to help improve their quality of life. I treat each client as an individual as there is no "cookie cutter" way of managing each individual's stressors and challenge. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the initial session, we will have conversations that will provide me with a good background of your past and current history. This will help me to best understand you as an individual and not just as what your current challenges are. We will work together to identify the goals and objectives that will be best address your individual needs.

My approach is dependent on the individual and what their needs are. I do not force any suggestions and want to be able to identify strategies that work for you. We work together throughout the therapy process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It can help to challenge recurring thoughts and manage anxiety. We’ll use CBT strategies to explore and recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We will use these to challenge and change some of your thought patterns to decrease your anxiety.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal therapy focuses on improving your relationships with others to relieve mental health symptoms. I utilize this in sessions in conjunction with other strategies in order to support some of the challenges you are being faced with in your relationships.
