I have diligently studied the understanding of the amygdala in the brain and how the amygdala and hippocampus interprets emotional, physical, and sexual abuse that can keep a person feeling that they can't break free from the negative memories of their past. Also, these painful memories will continue to remind individuals of the traumatic event(s) they went through. Remember, you're not alone and you are valuable.
