Hi, I’m Amy—a therapist and lifelong learner passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with curiosity and compassion. For over 20 years, I’ve supported tweens, teens, and adults in school-based and clinical settings. My approach is rooted in listening deeply, building trust, and engaging creatively in problem-solving. Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm presence, sense of humor, and ability to make difficult conversations feel approachable. In therapy, I believe growth happens through honest connection and collaboration. Whether we are exploring stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or transitions, I aim to create a supportive space where you can gain insight, discover strengths, and build confidence in your ability to move forward.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy at this time and what you hope to gain. Our conversation will be relaxed and focused on helping you feel comfortable and understood. I'll share how I approach therapy and what you can expect from our time together. By the end of our session, my goal is for you to leave feeling both grounded and hopeful about the next steps.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I'm down-to-earth, practical, and emotionally present. My experience working with teens and adults for more than two decades has taught me the value of curiosity and open-mindedness in every conversation. I blend empathy with thoughtful guidance, helping clients build self-awareness and find realistic ways to create change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with individuals who are ready for change, but may feel uncertain about how to begin. Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck, we’ll work together to identify small, meaningful steps toward progress. I also specialize in helping clients navigate life transitions—such as starting a new school, entering a new phase of parenting, or changing careers—and support them in building resilience and confidence along the way. If you’re ready to explore what’s next, I’m here to help.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Gaining awareness about the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors empowers you to be able to make small adjustments and experience meaningful change. Sessions with me often help a client think out loud, and better understand both current circumstances and opportunities for change.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
This is your time and your process, and that's where we will always start. I want to understand your perspective, without judgment, so we can help you explore how to overcome the challenges you face. I would say that one of my strengths is being able to meet you where you are and work with you to pace our work in a way that feels best for you. I’m not going to draw conclusions or tell you what to do. I really do love the process of helping you decide what, if anything, you want to do about your situation.
Supportive
I've always embraced the idea that we are all still learning and that connection to others sustains and strengthens our ability to be who we really are. I'll help you discover your strengths, develop healthy ways to cope with challenges, and cultivate your own well-being.
