Thank you for taking the time to review my brief profile. I hold a Doctorate in Social Work, complemented by more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and mental wellness. I have worked with many clients dealing with end-of-life, healing from grief and loss issues, depression, cultural conflicts, intergenerational and relationship stressors, work/life balance issues, and other life stressors that can potentially affect the daily living of a person.
Honoring what we need is not selfish - it is an essential part of caring for ourselves, and creating a life where we can heal, grow, and thrive. I feel truly humbled and honored to meet each client who chooses me as their therapist. I also believe that a little humor can go a long way - it can bring lightness to difficult moments, strengthen connection, and remind us that healing doesn't always have to feel so heavy.
Are you striving to find satisfaction with your work, life or relationships? Do you want to focus on fixing immediate problems rather than unraveling past hurts? Do you want to build a strong foundation for your current or future relationship? Have you grown tired of being treated like a problem and not a person? I primarily take a narrative approach to counseling. Narrative therapy begins with the premise that you are not the problem; the problem is the problem. The way we see ourselves can be defined by the language that we use. I see my role as a co-author, helping you develop an alternate personal history so that you may move forward with courage and confidence.
I am licensed in California with 11 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, & parenting issues. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
I am very pleased to meet you. Before coming here and seeing my profile, you may have struggled alone for a long time, unable to easily share your personal issues with anyone, or perhaps you did share, but felt misunderstood or not fully supported. In a safe and trustworthy environment, I am ready to listen to your concerns or issues with empathy, without any bias or judgment. With my expertise, I am confident in working together with you to resolve your worries or challenges. I will listen to your unique history and problems with curiosity and respect, and I will do my utmost as a counselor in collaboration with you.

Have you ever felt like you were busy doing all the things you thought would bring you a happy life, yet felt alone and disconnected from yourself and others?
These feelings are often when people turn to alcohol, drugs, food, shopping or relationships to try to create those feelings of happiness, contentment and joy. It can work for a short time however the key to moving forward is to understand the reasons we seek out these distractions.
When we strengthen the relationship with ourselves, the outer world becomes much more balanced and fulfilling. Through slowing down and reconnecting with our mind, body and spirit we can feel more confident to face life events with a more stable and hopeful core sense of self.
I specialize in treating relationship issues, addiction/substance abuse, depression, anxiety, job related issues, couples treatment and divorce recovery

Greetings,
Life can be confusing, relationships can be stressful, and the present can make you feel anxious or depressed. Sometimes a painful past can surface into the moment, especially when situations are difficult or when you are experiencing major change. During these periods your mood and thoughts can be affected in negative ways. When you are feeling alone, disconnected, or confused, talking things through can make all the difference.
I work with anyone struggling to find joy, peace, and fulfillment. I offer a safe, inviting space for you to share thoughts and feelings, to vent, to feel heard, and to reorient to meaning. Please allow me to assist you finding relief and clarity. I will meet you where you are at and welcome you. I address healing on multiple levels of the body-mind connection with a focus on the notion that caring about something or someone along with experiencing meaning can counterbalance the effects of hurt, a disturbing past, or a present stressful situation or transition.
I have more than 20 years of experience helping clients navigate major change and transition, gain closure, and create new beginnings. I apply interventions from a mind-body-being perspective and assess current life stressors to distinguish between situational mood and thought disturbances from those enduring and a consequence of previous hurt or trauma.

I help individuals, couples, and families break free from emotional patterns, build stronger boundaries, and reconnect with their authentic selves. My work is rooted in Gestalt, trauma-informed care, ancestral healing, and integrative mind-body practices—offering you a space to grow, heal, and transform from the inside out.
I am the co-owner and co-founder of Lydian Counseling & Consultation, LLC in the heart of the Short North Arts District in downtown Columbus, OH. Individuality is at the heart of how I work. I don’t believe there’s one right way to change your life, and I’m not here to hand you a roadmap and tell you to follow it. You’re the expert on your own life. My job is to ask the right questions, help you sort through what you actually want, and support you in building something that’s sustainable for you, not what worked for someone else, not what looks good on paper.
And I mean that genuinely. You are not your diagnosis, your history, or anyone else’s idea of what change should look like. The things that make you who you are, your background, your values, your circumstances, the way you see the world, those aren’t obstacles to work around. They’re the starting point. Good therapy, in my opinion, should fit your life, not ask you to fit into it.
Change is hard enough without feeling like you’re being managed. Here, you’re in the driver’s seat.
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in central Ohio, specializing in mental health and addiction treatment. I also hold an active LPCC license in the state of CA.
