Difficulty relaxing? Constantly overthinking? Overwhelmed by your emotions? Feeling stuck? My name is Danielle, and I specialize in supporting women who are struggling to manage anxiety, panic, low self-esteem, PTSD and/or a pattern of unhealthy relationships. Women who may be frustrated that their coping tools are no longer working, or those who feel ready to shift from managing their emotional pain to healing it. Although it can be therapeutic to talk about our problems, I believe that we need to feel our emotions to truly heal. I specialize in using Brainspotting and somatic techniques to support you in healing emotional stress/trauma and creating a stronger relationship with yourself. I approach therapy with an open mind and heart, providing a safe space to address your concerns without shame or judgment. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and my role is to support and guide you toward healing whatever is keeping you stuck.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session consists of us getting to know each other to ensure we are a good fit. I will share information about my style of therapy, and we will discuss your background, why you're seeking therapy and what you hope to get out of therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My own healing journey has provided me with a deep compassion and empathy for others. Having dealt with my own anxiety, depression and trauma, I am better able to support other women who may be struggling to manage these symptoms and want to begin their own journey towards healing. I seek to support women who have engaged in talk therapy before and feel that traditional therapy methods may not have worked. Women in unhealthy relationships, who are constantly attracting unhealthy or emotionally unavailable partners. Women who are ready to take a deeper look at themselves and heal the root cause of their problems.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with adult women experiencing anxiety. This can look like perfectionism, people-pleasing, difficulty relaxing or feeling hypervigilant. I love working with people who are open and willing to explore how their past may be impacting their present issues; with those who would like to dive more deeply into feeling and healing their issues to find relief.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is an advanced brain-body technique that helps you process and release trauma by identifying and focusing on specific points in your visual field, known as "brainspots." These spots correlate with areas of the brain where emotions and trauma are stored. By focusing on a brainspot and having acute awareness of what is happening in your mind and body, you can access, process and find resolution from stress/trauma. Brainspotting helps to release chronic stress and trauma that is stored in the body. Brainspotting is a cutting-edge new treatment that helps to identify and heal stress/trauma/negative experiences that contribute to a variety of emotional and physical conditions. Brainspotting allows you to access stored stress/trauma in the subcortical brain (a part of the brain we cannot access simply by talking), which can lead to more rapid healing. Because of this, I do not use talk therapy methods, as I engage in Brainspotting and using somatic tools in every session, to facilitate deeper processing and healing for you.

Attachment-based

Attachment theory is the idea that the relationships with your parents/caregivers in early childhood significantly impact your adult relationships- especially romantic relationship. I find that most people that suffer from chronic anxiety, depression, panic attacks or find themselves in engaged in toxic relationships have some sort of attachment-based wounds from childhood. We can work together to identify these wounds and empower you to heal relational issues, creating healthier more secure relationships.

Somatic

Somatic therapy emphasizes the connection between the body and the mind. It focuses on how physical sensations, such as tension or discomfort, are linked to your emotional and psychological experiences. By using techniques like breathwork, body awareness, and movement, somatic therapy helps you to release stored trauma, reduce stress and promote healing by addressing both the body and the mind.

Trauma Informed Care

I have been working with trauma throughout my entire career (15+ years) and provide deeply compassionate trauma-informed care to everyone I work with. I believe that trauma is stored in the body and evidence shows that mind-body work can facilitate deep healing of trauma.
