When making the brave decision to seek therapy, it is imperative that one seeks out a qualified professional who is not only skilled but who is also able to build a comfortable and safe therapeutic relationship, where trust and honesty are held in the highest regard. I received my master's degree in social work from Barry University where I have completed intensive trauma-informed care curriculum. I received my bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to becoming a licensed clinical social worker, I proudly served in the United States Army. I’ve been passionately working the social work field for over 10 years. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have over 5 years of experience providing individual and family therapy to the following client populations: addiction/substance abuse, juvenile criminal/sexual offenders, trauma survivors, military veterans who have experienced sexual trauma (MST) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
When treating trauma, it is imperative to identify and correct unhealthy and unrealistic thought patterns, as well as implement new and healthy coping and self-soothing strategies. I utilize a combination of spirituality and faith-based principles, psychotherapy (talk therapy) coupled with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to achieve healing and wellness.
I am committed to your healing journey. Healing is yours, once you determine that you are worthy to receive it. You are worthy and deserving of all good things. Reclaim your life!
