LMHC, 25 years of experience
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Master's level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) in the State of Florida. I have been working in the field for 25+ years, and have experience with many types of client issues. I work with clients who suffer from depression, anxiety, addiction, grief and loss, trauma, change of life challenges, family and relationship issues.
The first session will be spent introducing ourselves, defining client goals and expectations for counseling, and identifying the issue(s) that brought you to seek counseling at this time.
Extensive research demonstrates that the quality of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is the strongest predictor of successful outcomes in therapy. This insight underscores the central role of the connection formed in the therapeutic setting. A primary focus of my work is to provide a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space for you. This environment enables you to freely explore your feelings, fostering self-discovery and the development of more effective coping strategies. By prioritizing your comfort and emotional safety, we establish the groundwork for meaningful change and growth. Through an open, trusting, and collaborative partnership, we can work together to address your challenges. I utilize evidence-based practices to support you in making conscious choices and practical behavioral changes. These efforts are aimed at improving self-esteem, relieving anxiety and depression, and overcoming social difficulties. As you experience these changes, the quality of your relationships can also be enhanced. Throughout our work together, we will identify your personal strengths, recurring patterns, and existing coping skills. Recognizing these elements is essential in building resilience and achieving a deeper level of understanding and resolution.
