Hi , my name is Shahin Sabouri. I believe that all people have the power within themselves to achieve health and wholeness that includes a peaceful state of mind, a nurtured soul and healing. Utilizing a holistic approach, I teaches my clients how to reduce their chronic stress reactivity and build resilience to life’s perpetual stressors. I often draw on mindfulness therapy techniques, in addition, techniques such as EMDR to help the autonomic nervous system detect safety and regulate emotions effectively. I am fluent in Farsi and Azeri/Turkish language and consider myself to be a multicultural provider.
First sessions are all about getting to know you. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions about me and my work.
I am not unique in my therapeutic approaches, but what makes me stand out is my dedication to be present and non-judgmental throughout our work together. I offer therapy in English, Farsi and Azeri which is a dialect in Turkish which is spoken in Azerbaijan/Iran.
My specialties and the modalities I utilize are most appropriate for treatment of adults 18-100. Together we can Taylor therapy to suit your specific needs and interests. By mutual work in a non-judgmental and safe space we can address concerns and issues which stand in your way. I believe that a therapeutic relationship based on honesty and willingness to engage will ensure better outcomes.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I believe that acceptance of an existing issue is the first step in finding the most effective solution to our daily challenges. ACT offers a person centered approach to facilitating changes which will bring harmony into our lives.
EMDR
EMDR is a somatic technique which will facilitate trauma processing in our nervous system.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Healthy thoughts lead to healthy behaviors. CBT offers a new way to process our negative thoughts.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Learn to live harmoniously by using easy and effective DBT techniques.
