When counseling, I look at the whole person not just the current situation. I take time to get to know you and understand your situation and/or concerns. I treat all my clients with the utmost respect and compassion. I use motivational skills to help my patients see their strengths and help them create achievable goals. I believe in breaking the big goal into smaller goals that lead to meeting that larger goal. I believe this creates positive reinforcement for my clients and improves their emotional health, during what could be a difficult time in their life. I look forward to helping you improve your mental health, one step at a time. I have 8 years of experience working with ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance abuse and co-occurring.

Hello! Thank you for your time! I'm Janel McDonald, and I aim to provide compassionate, non-judgmental, empathetic care. My mission is to ease your apprehension and provide you with a safe and comfortable place to discuss your specific motivation for seeking counseling services. I served in the military for 22 years and have experience working with military veterans and civilians through some of the most challenging transitions in their lives. In the past four years, I have been working with clients by meeting via telehealth in their homes and the community to overcome barriers to treatment (e.g., transportation and childcare). My job as your therapist is to address the areas in your life where you need help. You don't have to do it alone. So, whenever you're ready, don't hesitate to get in touch with me, and let me share your path to grow towards a better tomorrow.

You look like you're holding it all together—but inside, you're exhausted. A comment, a change in tone, or a moment of silence can send your mind racing. You replay conversations, overanalyze everything, and hold everyone else together while quietly losing yourself. Hi, I'm Eva Chocron, LMFT. I specialize in helping anxious, high-functioning individuals who seem confident on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and stuck in painful relationship patterns on the inside. Maybe you've been told you're "too sensitive"—or you've just gotten very good at hiding it. I work with relationship anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, low self-esteem, and unhealthy relationship patterns. Together, we'll help you stop second-guessing yourself, calm your nervous system, build boundaries without guilt, and strengthen emotional resilience. You don't want perfection anymore. You want peace. You want to trust yourself again. You want relationships where you can express your needs without feeling guilty, "too much," or afraid you'll push people away. You want to feel safe—not only in your relationships, but within yourself. I also work with couples navigating communication problems, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust after betrayal, and rebuilding intimacy—helping both partners feel heard, understood, and valued. I provide online therapy for anxiety, relationship issues, and couples across Florida and Virginia, in English and Spanish.

I know how easy it is to become the person everyone depends on while quietly carrying stress, pressure, anxiety, or emotional pain underneath the surface. Many of the clients I work with are high functioning professionals, caregivers, parents, and leaders who are used to pushing through life while putting their own emotional needs on the back burner. Over time, that emotional weight can start showing up in relationships, work, sleep, mood, self esteem, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where you no longer feel like you have to hold everything together alone. I specialize in EMDR therapy and work with adults and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is warm, grounded, and direct. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation with someone who is present, engaged, and genuinely invested in helping you heal and grow. Together, we will explore not only what is happening in the present, but also how past experiences may still be shaping the way you think, feel, react, and connect with others today. EMDR can help reduce the emotional intensity connected to painful experiences so you can move through life with greater clarity, confidence, and peace. With over 16 years of experience in mental health and substance use recovery, I am passionate about helping people move out of survival mode and feel more emotionally connected, balanced, and like themselves again. I provide virtual therapy to clients in Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.

I enjoy working with people to help them build a strong sense of self, encourage their confidence in relationships, and help foster a sense of calm and security in their everyday life. I enjoy helping parents navigate the many challenges that come our way. I believe people seek therapy for many reasons: adjustment to a new city or life situation, feeling overwhelmed or stuck, or problems with relationships. Counseling is a process that most of us could benefit from time to time at different stages in life, as it brings an outsider's perspective to events, we are faced with in day-to-day life in a nonjudgmental way.

Hi! I'm Jasmine and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been practicing therapy for 6 years. I obtained a Bachelors in Psychology in 2010 at Eastern Michigan University and completed my Master of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University, graduating in 2017. Do you have a hard time with change and life transitions? Do you feel overstimulated and unable to ground yourself? Do you feel isolated or "different" from everybody else? Are you exploring your identity, sexuality, or self-image? Are you seeking a therapist who can provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable enough to vent, find relief, and explore your story– however unconventional it may be? Do you crave a space where you can find yourself or be encouraged to be the expert on your life while being held accountable for your goals? If you want to live a life that aligns with your values or true identity while communicating and reinforcing your boundaries, I can help you get there. Together, using strength-based and person-centered therapy with a psychodynamic touch (and a healthy dose of humor), we can partner and begin your journey to building the confidence to be who you are and enhancing your strengths. Finally, feel self-assured in your value and speak up for what you want in your life, relationships, and career. If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today. I come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying cultures and backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent and open-minded when working with different clients. When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m... Either out and about on the town attending open mics, enjoying brunch, having fun at concerts or at home watching the Food Network, cartoons, dramas, and comedies.

Hi- I’m Heather! I’m a licensed clinical social worker offering telehealth therapy in the state of Virginia. One of my greatest professional passions is introducing clients to EMDR therapy! I am an EMDR trained therapist working toward obtaining EMDR certification and am actively accepting new clients who are interested in exploring EMDR.
If you’ve tried talk therapy before and found that you’ve hit a wall, you’re not alone. Talk therapy may help us gain new insights into our patterns of behavior or relationship dynamics, but we often still have trouble changing the way we respond to particular triggers. Despite years of talk therapy, many of us find that there is still an unbridgeable gap between what our rational thinking brain knows and our felt sense of truth.

Do you cognitively believe that you are not a bad/unworthy/unloved person but deep in your body you cannot shake the sense that these core beliefs are true? EMDR can help resolve this disconnect.

Talk therapy work is done in the left hemisphere of the brain (this is the part of the brain where logical, rational thought occurs). But trauma is stored in the RIGHT hemisphere of the brain and the limbic system. Language does not easily address memories or beliefs stored in this part of the body and you may stay stuck living with maladaptive core beliefs and reliving traumatic memories until you can incorporate your RIGHT side of your brain in therapy. EMDR is one way of doing this. EMDR operates under the theory that the brain has a natural system in place to move toward adaptive resolution. Trauma blocks this system preventing us from fully processing our memories. EMDR reactivates this system, allowing our brain to fully integrate trauma so we can be free to live life on our own terms.

Hi, I'm Trish Mullen, a licensed professional counselor with over 28 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, and life transitions by reconnecting with their sense of self. I graduated from VCU Health in 1997 with a Masters Degree in Rehab Counseling. I utilize the Integrative Approach to therapy, including EMDR, parts work, DBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing to guide therapy in a way that is both effective and empowering. I bring over two decades of clinical experience, along with personal insight shaped by my own growth work. My education and clinical training prepared me to treat anxiety, trauma, family of origin work, and grief with a strong evidenced-based foundation. At the same time, I've done my own growth work to face challenges, different from yours, and to grow through them, recognizing how hard and courageous this process can be. My growth work allows me to show up with deep empathy, steady grounded presence, and a belief in your capacity for meaningful change. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, our fur babies, playing golf, pickleball, seeing live music and rooting for my favorite teams.

You’ve done therapy before. You got insight. Maybe even some relief. And then you ended up right back in the same patterns. That’s the work I do. I work with adults dealing with eating disorders, trauma, burnout, and the kind of “functional” that looks fine from the outside but is not sustainable. Most of my clients are not new to therapy. They are frustrated that what helped didn’t hold. I have over 25 years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, and private practice, including higher levels of care in eating disorder treatment. I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina, and I hold advanced certifications in eating disorders, trauma, and DBT. This is a telehealth practice designed to be structured, direct, and for people who are done circling the same insight without change.

Warm Greetings! I have 32 years of experience in the counseling field since 1993. I earned my Masters degree through Longwood University. I worked in residential mental health care and in-home settings. In 2008, along with 3 colleagues, I founded a day school for youth with learning disabilities and mental health challenges. I have specialized in working with children, tweens, teens, and young adults. Adult clients, ranging up to seniors, can explore in an accepting space as I journey alongside them. I currently work extensively with diverse families and adults with unique backgrounds as well. I believe in creating a safe space for all individuals to be heard and validated. I value building trust and openness with people to support them as they unravel the twists and turns that life presents us all. When I listen attentively in sessions, the person, couple, or family are the most important people in the room as we seek to shed light on the areas we can discover together. I see clients both virtually and in my office. *In-office sessions require prior approval by contacting me directly.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field and 10 years in private practice. As a certified sex therapist through AASECT, I specialize in supporting individuals and couples navigating intimacy, relationship challenges and personal growth. My approach is warm, relational, and grounded in evidence-based practices like Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. I specialize in working with couples to strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate challenges together. I integrate couples therapy with sex therapy to help partners deepen emotional and physical intimacy, address concerns around desire and sexual functioning, and foster a more fulfilling relationship. I feel it is important to offer clients practical tools and exercises they can use outside of therapy, because real change happens not just in the session, but daily life. These strategies help reinforce what we explore together, support continued growth between sessions, and empower clients to manage challenges as they arise. Whether it's mindfulness practices, communication techniques, journaling prompts, or coping skills, these resources give clients something tangible to hold onto as they build confidence and resilience on their own path. I view therapy as a collaborative process-an active partnership between client and therapist. We work together to explore challenges, identify goals, and create meaningful changes. While I bring clinical insight and guidance, the client brings their lived experience, wisdom, and willingness to grow.

Hi, I’m Kimberly, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping adults navigate anxiety, burnout, grief, life transitions, and the stress that can leave you feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who truly listens while also helping you build practical skills that create lasting change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop healthier ways to cope, and work toward goals that align with the life you want to create. I’m especially interested in the connection between mental and physical wellness. Whether we’re talking about stress, sleep, routines, relationships, or lifestyle habits, I believe healing happens when we care for the whole person, not just the symptoms. Seeking therapy takes courage, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you feel understood, challenged when needed, and empowered to move forward with confidence.

Hello, my name is Luiza and I am the owner/therapist of FIT MIND counseling services. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in FL & MA and a Licensed Professional Counselor in DC, GA & VA. I am from Brazil, and I speak Portuguese as well :) I can understand Spanish pretty well too, but I do not speak fluently. FIT MIND counseling services enjoys empowering clients finding a more meaningful way to live their lives and assisting them learning about the importance of self-love. Helping clients to focus on themselves and on their self-care is a precious thing. When they learn to embrace and unconditionally love for being themselves, they become stronger in the face of negativity and more able to hold onto positive thoughts when faced with challenges. Mental illness is as real as any physical illness. We talk normally about cancer and diabetes, although the same should apply to mental illness. Emotional and mental health are just as important as the physical health of a human being. The emotional trauma that a brain endures in various of the human life cycle can be damaging and in the long run, just as detrimental as a psychical illness. People donate their organs, but they cannot donate their brains. Some people live with human-made hearts, but there is no such thing as human-made brains. I believe that our brain is the most important organ in our human body, so why don’t we start taking good care of it? Therapy is not only for people with mental illness. Therapy is for everyone. We all have faced or currently face some hardships in life. Talking to a therapist can help you deeply in improving your mental health, decrease your stress and live with more joy and intention! Hello, I'm Katheryn! Maybe you're the one everyone leans on. You take care of your kids, your partner, your parents, your work, your home- and somewhere along the way, you stopped taking care of yourself. You may feel tired all the time, overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or like you've lost pieces of who you are. Maybe motherhood feels harder than you expected. Maybe you're carrying grief, stress, or loneliness that no one really sees. Maybe your children are growing up and needing you less, and you're wondering what comes next for you. You don't have to hold all of that alone. I work with women in all stages of life who are dealing with stress, loss, and emotional overwhelm. Whether you are adjusting to motherhood, struggling with postpartum depression or anxiety, caring for aging parents, grieving an empty nest, or simply feeling stuck and exhausted, therapy can give you a place to breathe, process, and feel supported again.
