My name is Kaleesa Turnage, but feel free to call me Leesa. I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a deep passion for the work that I do! Like most of us, I have experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression. My journey is special to me because through my experiences, I have learned how to cope with different things, develop a sense of who I am, and teach people how to do the same things.I specialize in anxiety, depression, young parent issues, child-raising, and attention-deficit disorders. I'm dedicated to empowering you with the tools and knowledge to perform at your best every day. I use performance skills ranging from mindset and motivation to improving focus and concentration.
Clients can expect to be listened to, valued, and respected in first sessions with me. Client can expect to enter a safe and warm environment.
My approach emphasizes practical skill development, measurable goals, and real-life application so that progress extends beyond the therapy session. Clients often experience increased insight, improved emotional regulation, stronger coping strategies, and greater confidence in managing challenges.
I ideally serve clients who are Adolescents, individuals 18-65, open, ready to work, likes to be challenged, PTSD, anxiety, stress, work related issues, parenting issues, parenting stress, Bipolar. I help clients identify their existing resources, past successes, and desired outcomes to create practical, forward-moving goals. In sessions, I use techniques such as scaling questions, exception-finding, and future-oriented conversations to clarify progress and build momentum.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, evidence-based approach to my help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In sessions, I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns, explore how these thoughts influence feelings and actions, and develop more balanced and realistic alternatives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In sessions, I focus on balancing acceptance and change—validating clients’ experiences while supporting them in developing practical strategies for managing intense emotions and reducing behaviors that interfere with their goals. I incorporate skills training, real-life application, and collaborative problem-solving to help clients respond more effectively to challenging situations.
