New to Grow
Amy is a dynamic and experienced practitioner with over 30 years experience. She works with diverse populations age 18 and beyond, and has specialized training in addressing grief and loss, trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), dissociation, personality difficulties, chronic illness and parenting struggles. She is well-versed in addressing anxiety, depression, adjustment and life change issues, and is LGBTQ affirming.
At intake, Amy prefers to get to know her clients and their needs and goals using a conversational and collaborative approach.
Amy is a warm, empathic and strengths-based therapist who brings decades of work and life experience to her practice. She uses an integrative and eclectic approach to therapy based upon her training, experience and her clients' needs. She draws from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and attachment theories and uses an array of techniques to work with her clients using a whole person and collaborative approach.
I like working with a diverse group of clients, but particularly enjoy patients with high intelligence, patients with trauma history, and patients with personality struggles, and creative/artistic folks. I also work well with other therapists. I have personal experience with and thus work well with patients with chronic illness and phase of life transition. Attachment wounds are an area of specialization, as are dissociative diagnoses.
