New to Grow
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strengths. It is my pleasure to walk alongside you while you navigate life’s transitions, moments of uncertainty, and relationships. Engaging in therapy can provide opportunities for self-exploration and process thoughts and feelings that prevent you from being your best self. I'm here to help develop inner resources while allowing you to be human. With an open-minded and empathetic approach, I provide therapy that is rooted in person-centered principles, trauma-informed care, and the exploration of personal strengths. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, empowering them to cultivate a meaningful healing journey.
In the first therapy session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where they are encouraged to share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without judgment. We will begin to establish rapport for a trusting relationship. I will create a safe space for open and honest communication. I’ll explain the therapeutic process and discuss the importance of confidentiality to ensure the client feels comfortable and well informed. I ask questions to gain a better understanding of the client's background, current challenges, and overall goals for therapy. Clients can expect to have the opportunity to express their reasons for seeking therapy and what they hope to achieve through the therapeutic process. Together, we will collaboratively set goals for therapy and discuss potential approaches or strategies to address the client's concerns. Clients can expect to feel heard, understood, and supported as they embark on their path toward personal growth and healing.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my authenticity, relatability, and use of humor, while allowing the client to be the expert in their healing journey. I have also had the privilege of working with diverse populations with ranging ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am here to guide the client on what is best for them. I will remind my clients of their goals and confront them when they avoid doing what is necessary to accomplish their goals. I point out patterns that could be detrimental to growth in a compassionate yet direct matter. I have found that clients respond well to feedback when they feel their Provider genuinely cares.
I specialize in working with young adults, middle-aged adults, and “seasoned” adults navigating life. I am especially well-versed in women's issues. I work with clients who experience challenges with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-confidence, life transitions, and complex trauma. If you are open to personal growth, reflection, and building your toolbox, I look forward to supporting you in “doing the work”.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is structured, goal-oriented, evidence-based and effective for various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. I used CBT to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.
Narrative
The client is always the expert of their story. Using narrative therapy gives the opportunity for clients to tell their story while being assisted with seeing their resilience and understanding the influences surrounding their life experience.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I used DBT as a modality for developing mindfulness, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence to improve issues of self-control, emotional regulation, and managing stressors.
