I believe that in order for counseling to be successful we must work equally as a team with forming goals, implementing interventions, and assessing progress. In my view, to make sense of overwhelming issues it is best to break them down. Feelings and thoughts affect our behaviors and how we make sense of the world. Therefore, we must address the impact those feelings and thoughts are having on our symptoms and actions. While also diving into the root of those thoughts and feelings.

Laurie is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and discover new ways to heal, grow, and thrive. She works with clients facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, and relationship challenges. With over 20 years of experience working with the autism spectrum disorder community, Laurie brings both expertise and compassion to her work.
She understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and that healing is rarely a straight path. Life ebbs and flows, and therapy is much the same—at times you may feel momentum, while at other times roadblocks may arise. Laurie meets clients where they are with patience, creativity, and encouragement, helping them move forward at their own pace.
Laurie creates a warm, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring emotions, challenges, and goals. She values building strong therapeutic relationships as the foundation for growth and healing. Her approach is integrative and tailored to each individual, drawing from person-centered therapy, mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and skills for emotion regulation and coping.

She believes that everyone has the capacity for healing, growth, and lasting change, and she is dedicated to helping clients find tools that support their unique journeys. On the outside, it may look like you're managing everything. On the inside, you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or surrounded by people but still feel completely alone. If you're reading this and thinking, "This sounds like me," you're exactly who I hoped to reach.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. While those experiences may bring you to therapy, I believe our struggles don't happen in isolation. They often develop within the context of our relationships, experiences, and the roles we've learned to play. Together, we'll become curious about those patterns, question the expectations you've learned to carry, and decide which roles still fit the life you're trying to build and which you've outgrown.
Therapy can be a place to set some of that weight down and reconnect with yourself. It can be life changing to give yourself permission not to fit neatly into predefined boxes.

Many people appear "fine" on the outside while internally struggling with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, overwhelm, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns. You may find yourself overthinking, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from the present, or constantly putting pressure on yourself just to keep up. Therapy can help you slow down, better understand yourself, regulate emotions more effectively, and change patterns to create a greater sense of balance, clarity, and connection in your life.
I help clients gain self-awareness, stop obsessive compulsive cycles, manage anxiety and overwhelm, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and break free from unhelpful patterns. I offer in-person and virtual therapy. In-person therapy is available on Monday's at my office in South Tampa.
I create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences and work to make lasting change. If this sounds like work you're ready to engage in, book an appointment or contact me to set up a consultation call and we'll see if we're a good fit!

I have been an LCMHC for 14 years. I treat adults, with depression, Bipolar, Women's issues, and adults who are trauma survivors. I am licensed in the state of North Carolina, therefore I can only see clients who reside in North Carolina.
I want to assist clients who have developed coping skills (for whatever reason) that are not currently serving them to develop more productive ones; Additionally, to strengthen your relationships, your boundaries, and increase your personal effectiveness.
Having been through a lot in my teenage years into adulthood, where I learned self-confidence, I have found that if I had someone to help me work through issues of stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and many other life factors I would have been successful sooner.
I have experience in diverse cultures where I have found I learn just as much from the people around me as they learn from me. Having an open mind and listening to my clients helps me to relate and understand them and develop a treatment plan or plan of action with them that makes them feel comfortable.
I have an extensive history helping individuals understand their career path, educational needs, and learning life skills. I have a passion for mental health because of the family history with depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and substance abuse, and it drives me to want to help others.
I believe it is important to empower individuals, couples, and families towards a sense of normalcy and autonomy, and developing skills to meet the goals they have for their lives. Taking a holistic approach to counseling I take into consideration the whole person and stive to build a good working relationship with each client to better understand them, helping them feel at ease at a time that may feel stressful and awkward, and helping them navigate life's challenges.
In my free time I like to go to the beach, take a walk in nature, and enjoy spending time with my children and 2 dogs. I also enjoy learning, reading, and going to amusement parks when time allows.
