I am a LCMHC with over 5 years of experience providing psychotherapy services in hospitals, community mental health, private practice, and university settings to those impacted by complex medical issues, unprocessed grief, divorce, eating disorders, family conflict, school issues, severe and persistent mental illness, and trauma. I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that helps clients process and heal from distressing experiences in a structured and compassionate way.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Welcome! You already made it to the first step, you are seeking guidance for your mental health journey! It takes a lot of strength and courage to do the first step and you made it. The first session consists of a clinical evaluation, which gives me the opportunity to gather background information about you and your goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am a warm, direct, and strengths-based therapist with a focus on individuals 18+ and couples. I utilize a solutions-focused approach incorporating Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Gottman therapeutic modalities.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
As a trauma-informed therapist trained in EMDR, EFT, DBT, and the Gottman Method, I help adults understand what’s happening beneath the surface and build healthier responses. Clients often feel more grounded, clear, and connected at a pace that feels right for them.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate techniques addressing mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills into my work with clients.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My practice incorporates CBT as a structured, evidence-based approach that teaches clients to identify distorted thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, build practical skills for managing emotions and behaviors through the use of behavioral activation, problem-solving, and cognitive restructuring.
Motivational Interviewing
I utilize motivational interviewing in my practice as an opportunity to assist individuals with resolving ambivalence around seeking therapy through active listening and affirming my client’s skills, strengths, and abilities.
EMDR
As a dedicated and compassionate therapist, I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is a research-backed, integrative approach that helps the brain process and resolve painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or disruptive. I work with adults and adolescents struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, performance blocks, and life transitions. Whether you are coping with a single traumatic event or long-standing patterns rooted in early experiences, I provide a safe, collaborative space where healing can unfold at your pace. My approach is warm, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. In addition to EMDR, I integrate mindfulness, somatic awareness, and cognitive strategies to support lasting change. I believe that symptoms are not signs of weakness—they are signals from a nervous system that has been doing its best to survive. Clients often seek EMDR when they feel “stuck,” triggered by past experiences, or aware that insight alone hasn’t created the change they want. EMDR helps access and reprocess those deeper memories so you can move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and self-trust. My goal is to help you feel empowered, grounded, and free from the burdens of unresolved trauma. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples is a modality I'm trained in with a focus on partners who feel stuck in cycles of conflict, distance, or disconnection. My work helps couples move from frustration and misunderstanding toward emotional safety, trust, and deeper intimacy. Using a structured, research-based approach, I guide partners in identifying negative interaction patterns, understanding the underlying emotions that drive them, and creating new ways of connecting. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where both partners feel heard and valued. I work with couples navigating communication challenges, infidelity recovery, premarital preparation, parenting stress, and life transitions. My goal is to help you strengthen your bond and build a relationship that feels secure and resilient.
