I am someone who spent many years in the business world before finding recovery and figuring out counseling is what I'm supposed to be doing. I believe I don't have the answers for you, you do! I believe it's my job to help you get to the answers. I try real hard not to tell people what to do but will share what my experience has been. I use humor when I can as none of us are getting out here alive so we might as well laugh as to cry.
In your first session, you can expect to treated with respect and dignity, I will ask you a lot of questions with the understanding that you will answer those you wish to answer and pass on those you do not wish to answer. It's my hope we can establish a re pore immediately but with the understanding it sometimes takes more than one session to get there
I like to think that my combination of experience, recovery and age allow me to have the understanding and patience to help anyone get where they want to be.
I believe order to start the process of beginning to walk a new path, it's important to understand that process starts today which is the only day we have.
I have completed the year long DBT therapy process which allows me to use the principles of this therapy in my practice where it is applicable
