I have worked both in the public and private sectors with clients of varying ages to include children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. Over the years, my major areas of focus have been working with adolescents in crisis, addressing issues surrounding addictions and substance use, and helping adults and young people work through depression, anxiety, grief and loss issues, and trauma. I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Capella University while serving in the U.S. Army. I am a veteran and served as a mental health specialist for 7 years. Upon completion of my commitment I relocated back to Florida where I have worked with community based services, corrections, and crisis response services. I have over 20 year of experience and have work with a wide variety of individuals helping them to adjust to and maneuver through life’s up downs and everything in between.

I am a Florida DCF Approved Provider (Florida Family Court requires divorcing/separating couples with minor children to complete a DCF approved parenting class before finalizing their divorce). At Family Solutions Counseling, my practice is faith-based. My faith and life experiences are why I chose to become a Counselor. I also approach client concerns from a Solution-focused perspective. We all possess strengths and resources that can be used to attain personal growth and overcome life's challenges. Each person is doing the best they can considering the context they live in and the relationships that exist in their lives. My job is not to judge but to build a level of trust, provide support, encourage the client to feel safe in expressing symptoms, and help find solutions.

While working on my education, I began gaining experience in the field in 2014, working with toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults in crisis units, youth shelters, abuse and trauma treatment centers, and the school system before beginning my private practice in 2021. I currently specialize in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and grief with adolescents and adults.
