I'm Sarah and I am a licensed mental health counselor who practices talk therapy. However- I'm also a human and I treat our interaction as so. We are equal. I am simply a catalyst to help you do the work and reach your potential. I am a listening ear, and a guiding hand. My approach to therapy is relaxed and open-minded. I take a solution-focused approach to solving problems. I often utilize motivational interviewing, which helps to make the conversation more natural while still allowing us to get some real work done. I have helped clients build self-esteem, develop resiliency, and overcome life's obstacles through a personalized treatment plan tailored to each client. My favorite part of this work is watching someone tap into their own resources that they didn't even know they had.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session together, you can expect to feel supported, seen, and heard. The first session will be about an hour. We'll get to know each others' stories and feel comfortable before diving into the specific challenges you're facing. Together, we will develop goals and outcomes you'd like to gain from therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My experience with young clients has shown that I have patience and the ability to make talking about the uncomfortable more comfortable. My clients describe me as understanding, warm, supportive, and insightful.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My clients are often young adults >40, and teens. I've noticed that the clients I work best with might feel lost, might not feel like themselves, might be struggling to find the answer they know is within themselves- but they do know that they want to change.
