You’re not “too emotional”— you’ve just been stuck in patterns that keep hurting you. Hi, I’m Eva Chocrón, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and I help individuals and couples who feel emotionally overwhelmed and stuck in painful relationship patterns. You might look like you have it together… but inside, you feel anxious, reactive, or exhausted—especially in your relationships. Maybe you overgive, struggle to set boundaries, or feel unseen and misunderstood. Even when you know something isn’t working, it can feel hard to change. My work focuses on helping you understand your emotional patterns and respond differently—with more clarity, stability, and intention. Together, we’ll work on: regulating intense emotions improving communication setting boundaries without guilt building healthier, more secure relationships My approach is warm, direct, and culturally sensitive. You don’t have to keep repeating the same patterns. Change is possible—and you don’t have to do it alone.
Your first therapy session is a space to slow down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what has been feeling heavy, confusing, or emotionally overwhelming. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling anxious in relationships, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in painful patterns they cannot seem to break — even when they are high-functioning in other areas of life. In our first session, we will explore what is bringing you to therapy, the relationship dynamics or emotional struggles you are facing, and the goals you want support with. I will also help you begin identifying patterns related to anxiety, attachment wounds, emotional overwhelm, boundaries, self-worth, people-pleasing, or conflict in relationships. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented, integrating evidence-based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), DBT skills, attachment theory, and systemic therapy. Whether you are seeking support for relationship anxiety, couples issues, emotional regulation, trauma, or feeling lost in yourself, our work together will focus on helping you build clarity, emotional resilience, and healthier connections — both with others and with yourself. You do not need to “have it all figured out” before starting therapy. The first session is simply the beginning of understanding your story with more compassion, awareness, and support. Serving clients in Aventura, Miami, and throughout Florida via telehealth.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance between deep emotional understanding and practical change. I help clients not only understand why they feel stuck in painful relationship patterns, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or self-abandonment — but also learn how to respond to those emotions differently in real life. Many of the individuals and couples I work with are intelligent, highly sensitive, and high-functioning on the outside, yet internally feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or emotionally unsafe in their relationships. They often struggle with people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, difficulty setting boundaries, emotional reactivity, or losing themselves while trying to hold everything together for others. My work focuses heavily on emotional regulation, attachment wounds, relationship dynamics, and creating healthier patterns of connection. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), systemic therapy, attachment-based work, mindfulness, and experiential interventions to help clients build emotional resilience, self-awareness, and more secure relationships. Clients often tell me they feel deeply understood in our work together while also being gently challenged to stop abandoning themselves. Therapy with me is not just about talking through problems — it is about helping you develop the emotional tools, clarity, and inner safety needed to navigate relationships, conflict, anxiety, and life transitions with more confidence and self-trust. My goal is to help clients move from emotional survival mode into a life that feels more grounded, connected, calm, and aligned with who they truly are.
If you feel emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, or trapped in cycles that drain your energy and confidence—you're not alone. I work with individuals who are sensitive, insightful, and often hard on themselves—people who long for peace, clarity, and healthier relationships, but don’t know where to start. Whether you’re stuck in painful dynamics, struggling to set boundaries, or constantly questioning your worth, our work will help you reconnect with your inner strength and learn how to navigate life with more ease, self-trust, and emotional resilience. Together, we'll build emotional resilience, strengthen self-trust, regulate overwhelming emotions, and create healthier boundaries so you can develop more secure, fulfilling relationships—starting with the one you have with yourself. My goal isn't simply to reduce anxiety; it's to help you stop repeating painful relationship patterns and feel confident showing up authentically in every area of your life. Whether you're dating, preparing for marriage, feeling disconnected from your partner, rebuilding trust after betrayal, or caught in the same painful arguments, we'll work together to improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and break unhealthy cycles. My approach helps couples move from conflict, resentment, and emotional distance toward greater understanding, security, and lasting intimacy. Many of my clients are also parents who discover that the same emotional patterns affecting their relationships show up in parenting. As you heal, you'll become better equipped to respond to your child's needs with calm, confidence, and connection—even when navigating anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, or oppositional behaviors. Together, we'll strengthen your relationship with your child while creating a calmer, more connected family environment. Healing yourself changes every relationship in your life. If you're ready to stop losing yourself while caring for others and build relationships rooted in trust, security, and connection, I'd be honored to support you on that journey.
