Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia. I received my master's degree from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY. I have been practicing individual therapy for eight years, working with adults who suffer from a variety of behavioral health concerns, including PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Addiction, and Grief. In my practice, it is my goal to create a safe, supportive, and trusting environment to encourage positive change in the lives of those I serve.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin with introductions, then begin discussing the challenges which led you to individual therapy. We will then discuss the changes that you wish to see for yourself, and process any obstacles you may have so that your individualized treatment plan can be completed.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I feel it is imperative to see the individual as a whole, understanding the need to look at the entire picture of a person's life, and provide treatment based on the unique needs of that person.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with the adult population, serving those who may have a variety of behavioral health concerns, including co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. I have often worked with individuals who have a lengthy history of trauma, post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and/or addiction.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have implemented CBT techniques into my practice for the last eight years. I have seen many clients manage symptoms successfully through the use of these techniques. We will utilize CBT to process how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact each other, and how to challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to symptoms.

Trauma Informed Care

The principals of Trauma Informed Care (TIC) have been utilized throughout the entirety of my practice. Practicing TIC is being able to recognize that any trauma throughout the lifespan impacts a person's ability to cope effectively. Through implementing TIC, my goal is to create a supportive environment that allows my clients to feel safe.

Eclectic

By utilizing the Eclectic method, treatment and coping strategies from a variety of therapeutic methods will be used to cater specifically to your needs, which allows for the most individualized treatment.
