You are enough! I'm Vanessa, a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) in Virginia. I received my Master's from Liberty University and have been in the mental health field for 9 years. I assist individuals and couples with overcoming and managing depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and phase-of-life issues to develop a positive self-image by rebuilding self-esteem and developing practical techniques and skills for relationship problems.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, there will be introductions and a brief assessment. The assessment will capture any underlying health concerns and development. We will discuss your reason for attending therapy and the goals you desire to achieve. From there, we will collaboratively create a treatment plan to guide future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is warm, supportive, motivating, and nonjudgmental. I encourage you to express your voice, knowing you are being heard fully. I am open, interactive, considerate, and respectful of others' thoughts and feelings. I look forward to working with you as you unlock the key to self-discovery and empowerment!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with motivated individuals who desire change in their lives. My clients seek improvement by implementing techniques and coping skills in everyday life. They desire accountability when challenges occur to improve their quality of life when feeling depressed or anxious.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT encompasses thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I use this method to educate clients to question their thoughts, challenge them for validity, and reconstruct thoughts when necessary to improve their mental health.
